This lovely three star hotel has possibly one the best locations in La Rochelle. We booked a room for just the one night and paid €89 for it. The lobby is nice and airy and the staff are lovely. Our room was excellent and beautifully clean. It was a great size with an enormous bed. We also got a small...

The rooms are very tired looking. Wi-fi will drive you mad. Drops out all the time. Staff are excellent. They do change the bedding and towels everyday. No bar, breakfast is expensive. Not a place to stay if you only speak English.

Dear Sir, Thanks for sharing your opinion. We are glad you appreciated the daily change of the bedding and towels. We take note of your remarks and apologize for the inconvenience. Our staff speaks French, Spanish (practical) and English. The latter is relatively well mastered. And it is not often that we are told the contrary. Regarding the Wi-Fi, it...

Stayed for one night on valentines day. Hotel is very close to the two towers at entrance to the harbour. Ideal location for pleasure ferries to fort boyard, etc. very reasonable price for the room. Breakfast expensive at €14 each so didn't take that up. Had a very nice traditional continental breakfast at a cafe just inside the clock tower gate...

Hotel Saint Jean d'Acre is an ideal hotel for a visit to La Rochelle. The location is perfect, adjacent to the Towers that guard the harbor and next door to Bar André. While simple, the rooms are clean, the wifi works well and the breakfast is more than adequate. The staff is friendly and will try to accommodate whatever request...

What a fabulous find! Rooms a little snug(210) but perfectly adequate for two people. Very clean, lovely reception staff. Every thing about this hotel is nice. But the real plus is the location. 25 metres from the 'Chain Tower' with beautiful views of the harbour and the sea. The best fish food restaurant next door Andre's and McEwan's bar on...

While our room was dated, it was spacious and reasonably comfortable. The best aspect was its location in the heart of all the activities we wanted to see. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Its located right on the waterfront where there are numerous restaurants and bars. People are everywhere and its an exciting atmosphere. You can walk to lots...

The hotel is just next to the towers, so the location is excellent. It is also very clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed in the room I stayed. The bathroom is also big, so i highly recommend this hotel.

We had room 213, overlooking the back of other buildings, with the only sound being mechanical (aircon or kitchen extractor) but not excessive. A comfortable bed, good shower, tea/coffee facilities. The location was superb, right opposite the Tour de la Chaîne. There are many restaurants, bars, shops very close by. The only thing we had to ask for was black...

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It is part of a chain so doesn't have a particularly individual feel to it. But it is run very efficiently and our room which overlooked the harbour towers was light, well presented and more spacious than some. Breakfast (12 euro supplement) is generous with lots of choices. The spacious reception area has...

Very nice hotel, basic, but very clean. Good value, friendly staff. Extremely well positioned for public transport, access to the harbour and Old Port, restaurants, shops. A kettle and some cups in the room would have been nice, but breakfast was excellent, lovely fresh croissants, Danish pastries, pain au chocolat. Coffee ad lib. Even British tea bags! A pleasant place...

“We upgraded as our first choice was so small. No draws for clothes. A small hanging area. No where for cases. Our second room, still no draws. Bedside cabinets in both rooms are dummy draws. The floors were gritty. Not my cup of tea for a hotel. La Rochelle is an expensive place to stay, so would suggest a long weekend only. Average meal prices are around £25.00 pp. excl drinks. Breakfast - we bought some bowls, spoons and cereal. Kept milk in the fridge. We did eat well at lunchtime with the 3 meal deals. Starter mains and dessert. Prices go up at night for the same meals. It's worth shopping around. ”
