This 18th-century manor house has been inhabited for several generations by the BON family, ranchers from father to son. Frederic BON passionately continues the work of his father, Jacques BON, a rancher to the bottom of his soul, who, with the help of his wife, Lucille, an architect, restored the farmhouse to transform it into a charming hotel, simple and warm. Come live with us and share our Camargue universe : Ride beside the « gardians » (cow herds) through the wide-open spaces, taste our fresh healthy food from our vegetable garden, bull steak and rice from our estate.

Everything was amazing. We stayed for 3 nights and wanted to stay longer . The staff were kind, attentive nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner . Our suite was very spacious, clean with its own entrance.

We flew to Lyon and boarded our cruise ship headed for final docking in Arles. Getting to the Mas was easy. While still in the US we had reserved a rental car from an agency in France and the attendant pre-programmed the directions for us, to the Mas de Peint in English. Although we reached the Mas several hours before check in time, our room was ready and we began our enchantment with this beautiful old estate. My passion was riding “native” horses and I could hardly wait to the next morning to saddle up alongside Laurent (I teased him with asking him if he was related to Yves St Laurent) and between his English and my French, he proceeded to give me a very educational tour of the property for the next two hours. The agriculture and the lives of the bulls. I was wary of riding in the field with the bulls but he was reassuring and rode close to me. The bulls were very tame and as we rode towards them, they slowly ambled away. Dinner that night was fabulous as was breakfast the next morning. Frederic Bon, the owner came to everyones table and chatted with each diner as if they were family and indeed we did feel like part of a big close family. Patricia and Johan at reception were exceedingly helpful and patient, allowing me to practice my French on them, even though they both spoke and understood English quite well. The accommodations were wonderful, beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. I can’t wait to return.

We stayed here for three nights in September 2019. We have been traveling around France for several weeks and staying in four and five star hotels at each stop but this was by far our favorite. It is quintessential elegant French countryside. The hospitality and and warmth of the staff was remarkable. Béatrice, at reception, brought us a lovely tomato salad and French bread when we arrived home one evening without having had dinner. The grounds and pool are immaculate. We only regret that we didn’t have time to try their very special restaurant for dinner. Breakfasts were fabulous. We will definitely be back.

To see the Camargue we decided to stay right in the midst of it and so glad we splurged and stayed here. What a beautiful, understated elegant property. We didn’t actually want to leave. My only comment is that the rooms were quite dark - even hard to read. But oh the overall property is so amazing. I’d go back in a heartbeat and you might have to drag me away.

We were very lucky to get a last minute booking here. It’s in extraordinary landscape and makes the most of this; the room was lovely and peaceful; the pool and poolside very relaxing; the tomato salads wonderful and the staff very welcoming.
