We stayed for five nights at La Mirande in late September/early October. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Anthony, at the front desk, was especially gracious and had many good suggestions for us whether it was a restaurant reservation or for driving outside of Avignon. Our room was spacious and very nicely appointed. We also had a view...

Spent a few days in Avignon, wine tasting and visiting the city. La Mirande is perfectly located for visits to the Palace, in fact, when you exit the Palace tour, you are at the front door of the hotel. Staff and service was very good, room (3rd floor grand double) was large with a small view overlooking the Palace. Breakfast...

I was investigating hotels in Avignon and inadvertently made a reservation at La Mirande. I usually print a hard copy for my records and never did. That's why I did not realize that I made the reservation. I proceeded to make a reservation in another hotel. I received an email from La Mirande 2 weeks before my arrival date confirming...

Directly across from the Palace of the Popes, this historic hotel is a great choice for Avignon...IF you can find it! Arriving on the TGV we elected to bring ourselves and our heavy luggage via taxi and then return the following day to rent our car. This was an excellent choice as you will see from my photo of the...

We stopped for tea. It was elegant and quiet.. (It was in April little before the crowds.) Great place to stop for an escape from the crowds. The court yard is completely surrounded by the hotel. Would stay there if I make it back to Avignon.

We rented a car from the TGV and drove into Avignon. We missed our first turn and it took us an hour to finally find this hotel. After all that frustration it was worth it. The staff is lovely and helpful. The room is comfortable and large. They do charge 25E a day for parking, which is a bit much....

This gem is located by the Pope's palace and was once where they resided. We were greeted by the manager who showed us around giving us the historical review of each section and the furnishings. It is quite pricey but worth it. We stayed in the newer section with a large bath including shower and tub with double sinks. We...

From the minute you arrive, Francis & the rest of staff know your name & give you Tour of La Mirande. The fact that a former bishop resided there many centuries ago makes it even more appealing. Our Room was beautifully appointed & loved the big bathroom. double sinks, bathtub & separate shower. The lovely view of Popes Palace was...

Just noticed we never posted a review for this stunning hotel. We stayed back in August 2005 but it is hard to imagine that much has changed. The decor was beautiful and the service was exceptional. The hotel even made a special pasta dinner for our 2 year old in their Michelin-starred restaurant. And none of the patrons batted an...

What an exceptional establishment La Mirande is!!!!!!! The service was incredible. The room was totally delightful with a view overlooking the garden and a view of the Palais des Papes.
