We stayed in La Banasterie for one night.
This amazing house from 1500 is a cozy place where to spend and enjoy time in Avignone.
Thank you to Elvina for her welcome and to the owner for his top advices.

Friendly staff. Beautiful, small rooms in a medieval buildung. You can reach all the sightseeing highlights per pedes!
A bit difficult to find. No parking space. The streets of Avignon are only for small cars!
We spent a lovely two nights at this 16th Century residence converted into a a delightful warm and hospitable B&B. It was very well situated - only 50 metres from the Pope's Palace.
We marvelled at the tasteful design and furnishing and the inviting spaces...More

direction : Leave the highway A7 to the extit "Avignon nord" then follow the signs "avignon centre" drive along ramparts (the Rhone (river) on your right) enter in the city by the door "Porte de la ligne" (follow the yellow sign la mirande) and turn immediately on your right "rue des remparts de la
ligne" when this street turn on the left you are "rue de la
Banasterie", we are to N°11.
Attention Avignon is a medieval city the streets are very narrow it's difficult to drive and to park into.
if you have not too much luggage my advice is:
when you are along the wall go to the next door "la porte du rocher" ( just after la porte de la ligne) and park your car in the Popes palace parking (parkings palais des papes) then you'll go out in front of the popes palace. you look the popes palace and go to your right corner there is the small street "rue de la peyrolerie" go down it until the "rue de la Banasterie" (on your left) 2 or 3 minutes from the parking
alls informations with photos on the web site of La Banasterie.
