Unsuitable for sleeping, no AC or fan, extremly noisy. Specially when the cleaning truck passes by at 5 am. Good location. It has double glazing which helps a bit but ut gets extremly hot. In general, Avoid.

I really reccomend going to Hyeres at least once in your lifetime. And if you go there Hotel du Portalet is right in the centre of where it all happens. It's a small quite worn hotel just where the old town meets the new part. Hospitality an service is very good and so is the breakfast. So if you like...

The hotel is situated in the very centre of Hyères and yet very quiet. The staff is very considerate and helpful with guests. The rooms are quite nice and the furniture, though not high quality, has been renewed recently. Room 19 has an interesting layout and a balcony with a glimpse of sea view. All in all good value for...

Our flight arrived after midnight so hotel all in darkness. An envelope on the outside door gave the code for the door. Our keys to our rooms had been left on the reception desk. No lift - so we had to carry suitcases up stairs. Rooms very basic but bed clean. There is some noise from outside but we were...

BEWARE: This hotel doesn't show up on driving maps! It is on Place Portalet, a walking path. Rue Limans, the stated address, does not allow cars. There is no parking. If you have a car, you must park about 3 blocks away and carry your luggage to the hotel. Very dated, no a/c. Room 9 (on 2nd floor) was quiet...

Had huge suitcase as traveling, but as on 2nd floor (long way up steep stairs) the manager very kindly let us decant what we needed for one night into small bags, and we were led up the woodchipped staircase to our rooms. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. Tiny single rooms with a loo cut out of the...

I chose this hotel for its location. Well situated, in the heart of the medieval city of Hyeres, I felt it would be an excellent choice. I encountered night bugs that ate me up and I was unable to use my bathroom, due to a reflux issue! These bugs were a type of big fleas with hooks on their sides....

I've read all the negatives reviews on the Hotel de Portalet and came to a conclusion that they share one common opinion: people who wrote them expected an hotel with a perfect location, quiet, with a range of services, and cheap at the same time. Well my dear friends that is not possible in our not that perfect world. If...

Stayed here for one night after visiting Iles d`Hyeres. Hyeres itself is a lovely medieval town well worth a night`s stay and this was the only hotel in the old town. We booked online and only paid 50 euros but we still expected better. The reception area was quite smart but the room was smallish with high celings and the...
