Before I arrived I read the reviews that go back more than 5 years. The older reviews had dire comments to make but that was BEFORE Nicolaus! The Chateau has seen better days...or it would not be a Youth Hostel! Some of the original features such as tiles, wrought iron and the enormous windows are still there from a by-gone...

If you have ever considered staying in a sordid house located lonely in the middle of nowhere with some spooky elements than you are perfectly right here. As far as we have noticed the rooms where quite fine, just the windows towards the corridor brightening the entire room as daylight when someone is walking in the corridor make them a...

I have spent two nights in this hostel lost somewhere in the outskirts of Marseille. We were in a big group and when asking for where to have dinner we were said that it was possible to order food at a pizzeria. Personnel was quite reluctant in providing information about transportation and Marseille. Also, the welcome was quite strange as...

Really bad value for money. The manager is kind of mean and not nice at all. The rooms are fine and the bathrooms are clean.... The hostel is really far from the city center and also walking to the metro is far. The area the hostel is located is really bad and there is no possibility to find any bar...

No matter how many ppl live in a room, the staff only gave us a ! key! thats why when we catchED the last minutes to supermarket, we didnt have key to enter the hostel area. The staff there kept us waiting and claim he was too busy to SPEND A...

We came with a group of almost 50 people. Got 1 key per room (6-8 people!!!), which was totally inconvenient, cuz we had to walk in groups like a herd of sheep! and without the key one cannot enter the gate, especially when creepy guy from reception refuses to open it from inside, claiming that we don't follow the rules...

After hearing a horror story of a friend being mugged after being shown a shotgun on the way to this hostel located in one corner of the city, we were extremely afraid of reaching the hostel late in the night. The hostel is at one end of the city at the end of the metro line. The path leading to...

The rooms of 6 beds were not only tiny but really dirty and smelly. Dust was almost everywhere and in the 1 week that we stayed the only thing the cleaning lady did was to empty the trash! The showers and toilletes were also dirty enough and hmm the breakfast I can say it was really poor. The worst thing...

In the three months that I backpacked around Europe I did not stay in any place that came close to how bad this hostel was! It was a subway ride and then a bus ride out of the city centre which took about 30mins. The last bus to the hostel is at 8:30pm, and the hostel's curfew is 11:30pm. They...

I haven't been to Bois-Luzy for a long while , but it still lives in my memory as the best Hostel in Europe and I stayed in at least 20 of them. This Hostel is the Real example of the pre Revolutionary France that was owned by some rich Marquis who drove through the streets of Marseille with his coach...
