The hotel is situated in the old town which is absolutely charming. We stayed in the first floor loft and got a triple room. Cozy and the decor had a great artistic flair with the African statues and unique art pieces. It felt like I was staying in a artsy apartment. Frederic was a friendly and approachable host and shared... More

We had the "suite" which had a bed in the loft and a lovely sitting room below. It's probably not for anyone with mobility issues, as it is up two long flights of stairs. However, it's highly worth the climb. The innkeeper, Frederic, is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Old Lyon. Take the funicular up... More

We stayed in the Artelit 1565 room and it was lovely, very romantic and evocative of another age. The location is ideal, near to the metro and some great restaurants. Frederic-Jean is most charming, hospitable and informative. This is probably not really suitable for young children or anyone with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs but for... More

We agree with the recent reviews after our stay at Artelit. Looks lovely and it's delightful to be so central and right in the heart of old Lyon. Fantastic location and you get a real sense of living in the old town. The lofts installed to provide more space (and sleeping) are very common in the old town as you'll... More

I agree with the previous reviewer- I loved this place- set in the heart of vieux lyon - to be able to stay in an apartment in a 16th century building with the rose tower in your midst, an apartment full of quirky antiques but tastefully placed, comfortable queen size bed and a plasma tv with a collection of alfred... Artelit has a great location in the heart of old Lyon and our “tower” room (actually at street level) was filled with art and charming in many ways. It is literally the back room of a small shop/gallery that opens onto Rue du Boeuf. It is separated from the shop by a not very substantial door (no problem when sleeping,... More

Artelit is in a wonderful location. Frederic the owner is a charming host. The room was really not so comfortable for us. I blame myself. I should have looked more closely at the picture of the room rather than the building. Our room had the bed in a loft with a very steep, narrow stair/ladder leading to it. To access... More

This is exactly the the kind of lodging I love to seek out and Artelit did not disappoint. Old Town Lyon is extremely charming, full of fun places to shop and delicious places to eat. It's also quick and easy to reach via the underground Metro; we were given perfect instructions and directions. Frederic is a wonderful host; he has... More

I had no great expectations but what a pleasant surprise. Staying at Artelit made all the difference in my trip to Lyon. I was alone attending a conference at the Int'l Congress and I am so glad that there weren't any available rooms at the Hilton there. Artelit is located conveniently and is safe for a single woman. Frederic gave... More

We stayed in one of these charming rooms in April while visiting our daughter who was studying abroad in Lyon. It is an absolutely perfect location, in the heart of Vieux Lyon, yet on the quieter and less touristy Rue de Boeuf. There are only 2 rooms, both of which are very spacious and wonderfully decorated with really unique pieces... More
