I booked specifically this hotel on a journey down to France to give the kids a good relaxing moment in the largely marketed pool on the webistes. Hotel is pricy even compared to Scandinavian standards... but in the perspective of playing kids it seemed an acceptable compromise. (266 Euros per night incl breakfast for 3) BUT: the pool/spa areas are not connected to the hotel and are not included in the stay; each visit costs 14 Euros/adult. So don't be fooled! Rooms are fresh and modern but even in a double bed pillows are not of the same standard: one got a firm large pillow, another one got a lousy shapeless cushion... Conclusion: "Eine Verarschung für dieses Geld"...
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great. However will not be staying here again as the beds were so incredibly uncomfortable, rock hard and the thinnest pillow imaginable, I will need another holiday to recover from the lack of sleep I got this weekend!! This is a great shame as it took away from what would otherwise have been a very pleasant experience.
Well, if you would like to be in the city. This hotel is not for you. Almost 10 km away from city center. Taxi charges 17-20 Euro. The hotel seemed like it had sauna and swimming pool but there was not. Make sure that it is open just before you arrive. Hotel is clean and food is delicious even they seemed expensive to me.
there is no second chance to make a first impression. unfortuantely the first impression was not good: a completely untrained un-infored traineee was at the reeption. to make things worse the room that I booked was not the room i got. otherwise, things are ok. functional room in nice earth colours. nice personnel at the restaurant. again, unfortunately, the cleaning staff were very noisy at 8 AM on a Sunday, in front of doors with a quiet sign hanging at the door knob
The location of the hotel is about 10-15 Km outside of the main Freiburg town. The hotel staff is friendly but the property itself appears to be divided in the old and new wing( we were given rooms in what looked liked the old wing). It’s a G+2 property. If you travelling in the summer months, you should be aware that this place can get really hot and this Hotel does not have air conditioning or fans in the rooms!!!! Very very uncomfortable. We have had to sleep with the windows/ door on the balcony open. A party on the ground floor ( a flr below our room ) made sleeping even more difficult. So in a nutshell, the property is outside the main city and rooms have no air conditioning. The latter has been a real bummer
