Dated rooms. There is no tea/coffee making facility in the room which I find disappointing. However, the hotel is just a short walk into town with lots of bars and restaurants which is convenient. Reception team were very friendly and helpful. Good selection of choices for breakfast and a little gift when we checked out of an apple and a...

We stayed here on a recent trip to Freiburg. The hotel itself is located about 100m away from the Hbf - though the train noise is well insulated, and I didn't hear the trains during my stay. However the street does get a lot of pedestrian traffic, as it is the main thoroughfare to the Old Town! The hotel itself...

After a long journey with a lot of delays I arrived exhausted at Hotel Rheingold in Freiburg ... to discover that they gave away my room! I booked it in February via Booking and received an email which said that the booking was confirmed and guaranteed. But because I arrived late they just sold my room (probably for a few...

Spent a few nights here on business. Comfortable bed, decent size room, very nice bathroom. Bathroom was exceptionally modern and clean. TV was very small, like a computer monitor but that did not matter to me. Bar is OK downstairs for a beer with work people but not a "cool hangout" for vacation. Restaurant is spacious for breakfast and service...

Average property vintage 1980s, and typical for a hotel adjacent to the railway station. Might be a good place for business travelers to crash for one night. The building's a high-rise with one-and-a-half elevators. There's one which takes you to all the floors and the parking garage. There's another one which takes you to some of the floors (not the...

This title sums up the Hotel Rheingold. It was a good choice of hotel for us,being very close to the station and a short walk into Freiburg Old Town. Due to its convenient location it is a bit pricey. The buffet breakfast was very good. Bath towels are more like large hand towels, and the bathroom doors are clear glass!

Good 3 star hotel, good location, about 500m from the HBF (main train station), in a reasonably quit location. Staff where friendly, room was good, average amenties, average breakfast for a german hotel. Good hotel for a business trip or a short stay.

The restaurant area is light and airy, but hardly used for dinner, due to the close location to the inner city. The rooms are small and have no aircondition, however beds and bathroom of good quality, but not a four star hotel

This was the final hotel we booked for our stay in and around Freiburg, and although we paid more for this hotel than any of the other 2, in many ways we got less for our money. I primarily chose this hotel for it's availability and location and I can't fault the hotel for these things. It is really really...

Location is convenient if traveling by train. Four star is a bit overrated and so is the price. Restaurant is OK, especially if sitting at a window.
