This was a charming Hotel about a thirty minute walk from the centre. We had a very warm welcome, the rooms were very comfortable. The Hotel had a very nice space outside to eat or a good restaurant inside. We went into Freiburg to have a look around, a lovely place and opted to eat at the hotel in the evening. We had a superb meal and it was a very good experience. Thank you.

Room Tip: We had a good room facing to the side. It was just a little noisy in the morning.

Although the hotel is awkward to find (Sat Nav coped admirably) it is a nice traditional Gasthaus with a popular biergarten. We arrived early so were able to leave the car and walked into town for a late lunch. We were quite tired by the time we returned to our rooms on the first floor as it is a good 20 minutes into the old town. Reasonable sized and clean rooms on the first floor (no lifts) with traditional furniture and adequate en-suite facilities. We sat in the biergarten and had reasonably priced beer (4Euro for 50cl) but went inside the restaurant/bar to eat - too many smokers! The meal was reasonably priced and very pleasant with no complaints - empty plates! Breakfast was good, plentiful and varied in the usual German fashion. Our overall feeling was that we enjoyed our stay but felt it was expensive for what it was (Euro 185 for two rooms inc breakfast), even though the parking was free!

Lovely view of the schloss and free access to amenities and attractions. Good midway point between Triberg and Schiltach. Comfortable room. Lovely breakfast. Chose to eat elsewhere in the evening - very nice. Quiet, attractive town.

I chose this hotel for the free parking out front & the reasonable rate. It is a 20 minute walk to the city centre. We welcome is so so, the reception been inside the pub downstairs, and WiFi code not offered at first, making for another long wait. The room & bathroom was a let down even considering the reasonable rate, no AC on a 30C evening, with a noisy pub downstairs, thankfully I was away from the beer garden. Bathroom shower head holder was broken. Breakfast next morning was actually very good. All in all this hotel was passable for one evening.

The hotel is really nice and is set over a bar. The room was very clean and comfortable. We ate in the bar restaurant for the night we stayed and food was nice and it was very good value for money. The bar wasn't really noisy at night even with the windows open. The only thing we didn't like was it was too far out of town. It's was about a twenty minute walk although there is a tram that runs in front of the hotel if you can take the time to get the grips with them. We didn't have breakfast as we had an early flight. This hotel is good value for money and I would reccomend it if you don't want to be on top of town. Having said that I personally didn't like Freiburg as it was too busy.
