The whole experience of eating in the Atlas Posthotel's main restaurant is special. From the traditionally dressed staff to the sensational cuisine is to be savoured. It is nice when four people go out for a meal, and sing such high praise for a restaurant and this is what happened when we travelled to Garmisch, and had lunch at the...

We chose our hotel in Garmish as other reviews implied Partenkirchen is much quieter and sleepier. However, a walking tour assured us that either location would have been good. We selected this specific hotel for its proximity to shops and restaurants. The hotel has only 5 designated, free parking spots. There is paid parking closeby (see map attached,) but you...

Great location. Great staff. Comfortable rooms. Beautiful building. If you're looking for a Hilton, this isn't your place but it's supposedly the oldest building in Garmisch and has a ton of character but has been very well maintained.

Looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Garmisch so we could take the train to Munich for Oktoberfest, we came across this gem. We booked 2 rooms - they were not next to each other, but in buildings that were next to each other! And neither was the main building. The rooms took us all by surprise. Recently refurbished, they...

Our family of 5 stayed in an apartment in September. The apartments are right behind the hotel, so the location is fantastic in the heart of the city, however, we were a little mislead because when I booked, I was told there were two separate bedrooms and a living area when the living area actually had two of the beds....

We loved this hotel and the nice young lady at the reception was top-notch. Very helpful and sociable to us, giving us tips and offering to help with suggestions on what to do and see. We had quite a large room with separate sitting and sleeping area. The bed, however was very close to the floor and I wondered how...

We have been staying at the Post Hotel since 1998. It used to be Clausen Post Hotel but they sold it to Atlas sometime after 2002. When it was Clausen's it was a cozy family run hotel with none of the large hotel chain activities. It is still nice but they have a lot of bus tour activity. The breakfast...

Good news first -- breakfast was outstanding. Ambiance too. BUT -- do not plan to stay in their apartment-type units a couple blocks walk from the main hotel. Those rooms were cold -- NO heat until we walked back to the lobby and made a special request. Parking was atrocious . . . . the new kid on the desk...

A couch bed, reasonably comfortable, and two singles. Plenty of room for bags clothes ect. TV, fridge and a perfectly functional bathroom. Room was also quiet and fine and warm. We stayed there in June 2012 for 1 night while visiting Zugspitze. The room was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. We had some issues with our cell phones not able to call the US for an important conversation. The woman at the front desk was kind enough to let us use their phone and didn't even charge us. If...
