From the vicinity of the baroque St Ulrich church one can already guess that this place used to be a monastery. The house is church owned and run as a seminar venue with accommodation.

You will not expect much luxury in such a place, but actually it does have its charms: In their simplicity and concentration on the essential, the rooms breathe the atmosphere of monk cells. At the same time, the strictly white interior and minimalistic design could be considered as highly contemporary and cool - If Stephen Jobs had designed hotel rooms, he may have done them a little bit like the St Ulrich style.

Overnight stay to visit a local supplier. Small and very clean rooms... just a bed and small work area. Breakfast was nice, but would advise to get their earlier rather than later in the service time. I think the hotel is run by the local religious organization, so you'll hear the hourly church bells (could be a difficulty for a light sleeper?). Didn't see a pool or gym or the like, but you'll get your workout walking from the front desk to your room (haha). Easy walking distance to downtown and its many restaurants and such. Onsite undergroud parking. Will stay there again when I'm in Augburg again. More
