Old building gives the charm and feeling you are in 1950s... located in the centre, has many nice restaurants around, many of them offering great breakfasts for 5 euro per person :) Unfortunately we found it out only day before our leave. That why all breakfast we had in the hotel which was also very good with good variety. Budgeted...

Located just across from the train to get you anywhere in Berlin easily. The hotel had a nice courtyard and clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff was nice and spoke English which was helpful for us. Tons of places to eat nearby, even late night.

Firstly it is in a great location right by the Eberswalder U-Bahn station and tram routes M! and M10. You can easily to most anywhere in the city from here. It is in the most happening area of the city, it has many interesting independent shops, bars, coffee houses, bakeries and restaurants. Prinzlauerberg has a tremendous and hip vibe. The...

Me and my husband spent New Year's eve in Berlin and rented a hotel room/apartment at Zarenhof a few months previous our arrival. The personnel was extremely helpful and service-minded. That felt great. We booked a room with kitchenette and i wanted to dish (i am one of those persons who hates to sleep and smell the food I ate...

location great, very clean, staff friendly, room excellent. Found it a bit pricey, reception very good but the entrance to the rooms and apartment was not very inviting. I did not include breakfast in my stay, but I had a lovely little kitchen facility, with hob, kettle sink etc. Also they had a luggage room on the day I was...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
