Convenient location, within walking distance to The Brandenburgen Gate and other sights in the area. Metro station at your fingertips. A lot of different kind of shops nearby, where you can for example rent a funky bike to explore the city. Big hostel, quite modern and spacious. Good continental breakfast. I was there for 2 nights, comfortable, pleasant stay.

Location was close to 2 subway stations and there were tourist spots which we just walked to from the hotel. We asked for hot water and they were able to share some to us. We just have to go to the lobby to get it. There were also sandwiches being sold at the lobby. The rooms were clean so as...

This hostel had a great location. I'd say it was in the middle of all the touristy things. It was also great that the place was nice and clean. There was noise from other rooms coming threw the walls but it went away sometime before midnight.

Cityhostel Berlin sure is very well located, has cool prices and rooms that are ok enough. It is a hostel, after all, and you can’t really ask for more than a warm room and a clean bed, right? The answer is no. You should also get clean toilettes and comfortable showers. And the showers are the real problem here: I...

It was my first time in an Hostel, so my expectations weren't very high... I stayed in a single bedroom, with private bathroom. The room had TV, desk, two chairs, bed, wardrobe and an hanger. You will be given one towel, one sheet and one duvet. You have hand soap and toilet roll in the bathroom. And you have to...

I enjoyed my stay at Cityhostel. It's a huge building with many rooms & floors. I stayed in a large twin bedroom with a private bathroom & huge windows looking to the street. It was very comfortable & it provided towels & basic amenities for coffee/tea. I stayed for 4 nights without breakfast. The cleaning service was daily & the...

A great location, the bathroom is inside of the room what is perfect to do not share with everybody in the hostel. The WiFi does not work really good but anyway you are in there to visit the city! The workers are really nice and give you recommendations about the city! I really enjoyed my time in there. Great and...

This hostel was great. The location was central. Only a 10 minute walk to the Brandenburg gate. The staff was very helpful and can direct you wherever you want to go. Jus about a block away there is great Bavarian resturant, it was so close and good we ate there twice.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
