I stayed here in the beginning of January because of a business trip. The hotel is very modern and stylish. The location of the hotel is really close to Berlin - Mitte. A convenience store is right across the street and all kinds of restaurants are just around the corner. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are also modern...

Fantastic place to spend a cold winters week. Great location. Stayed in the xl apartment that was really beautiful and comfortable. Would have given it five stars but for a couple of reasons. The light blocking curtain rail was Brocken and hanging down - we couldn't shut the curtain and it was very bright at night. Also the kitchen, although...

A few walks away from the Hauptbanhof. Just around the corner you also see street vendors selling street food so easy to grab something on the go. From the hauptbanhof brandenburg is just two stops away so this hotel is just perfect. Nice room and very nice and friendly staff. Elevators are key activated for security. The only misunderstanding was...

When booking a room I explicitly asked for non-smoking room on hotels.com but was given a smoking room anyway. My complaint was just turned down with a lame apology that 'all other rooms are already booked' and that 'all rooms in the first floor are smoking rooms'. I travel a lot but never experienced anything like that before and if...

We stayed in an apartment complete with dishwasher and our family traveling with us stayed in the old building in a lovely apartment- nice and quiet and with washing machine and dishwasher. With so many awes places to eat nearby we didn't have breakfast at the hotel at all....

Stayed here for 12 nights during summer & had a ball. It's located in a very nice part of Mitte, a little walk away form the bustle of Hackescher Markt & Alexanderplatz. Rooms were pristine with the typical super comfy German style super king size beds. Hotel facilities are good. The buffet breakfast is very good & well worth getting...

The hotel is in a super location in the trendy part of "Mitte" near public transportation, galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Although I feel the price is a good value for Berlin, I was disappointed that they charged extra for a quiet room facing the inner courtyard. The decor is minimalistic modern. The standard double room is rather small, but the...

Amano was great! Beautifully decorated, great location, friendly staff proficient in English, great neighborhood (close to the hub of Alexanderplatz) and a small but comfortable room which was perfectly adequate given that we were on a sight seeing holiday! Only point to note is that the shower in our room was "open" (i.e. you can see a person showering if...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
