in my experience Berlin hotels are functional and bland. they are a safe bet, reliable, but not very exciting. This place offers much more and was a genuine pleasure. Great customer service, convenient location, fantastic food, own-brand lager and I thought good value for money. The in-house restaurant competes with the very best that Berlin has to offer.

Had a lovely weekend in Berlin and stayed at the Michelberger hotel. Though the bar area was lovely and the room clean, for a three day break the room was a little too cosy. No storage / wardrobe space which meant we lived out of our cases. No great drama, all else in the "posh hostel" was lovely. However, because...

Located in Friedrichshain on the border (old) to the east. Mind you, a bit vegan hipster going on, if that's a problem. But I love it. Decently priced, friendly staff, well located and immensely vibey. No-brainer, just great!

Actually we didn't stay in the hotel but visited the hotelbar for a couple of drinks. The service is just excellent and so is the entire atmosphere in the hotel. We will defenitely return. Thank you for making our evening so beautiful.

Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Rented out the loft room and it was such a refreshing design. Very close to stations and East Side gallery. Could get into city center within 10 minutes on transportation. Staff was friendly and made our stay great!

Stayed in a regular room , loved it . Everything about the room and the downstairs and the tiny details . Heavenly hotel , friendly staff and my god the coconut water is to die for . Hotel near station too which is handy ! I didn't give it a 5/5 just because we stayed for four days and our...

Unfortunately this was a bad hotel experience on several levels. The hotel bar and lounge is fantastic, however this is where the positive points end. I booked a late check out however on the day of my check out I was awoken by a cleaner (who entered my room) and then later by management who told me I did not...

Loved it. Great location, 2 mins from the station and 5 mins from the east side gallery. Great place to stay in Berlin. Staff were so helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was great, the choice was brilliant and the food was really fresh and we couldn't fault it. Bar area was really cool and quirky and we spent some time chilling...

5 minute walk from East Side Gallery, great transport links, kooky rooms, nice cocktails, good service at the bar, breakfast was ok. A good base to travel around Berlin from and the Mercedes-Benz Arena was right next door. You should definitely stay on the east side if you are going to Berlin.

Whenever I talk to people about Berlin, the Michelberger tends to come up in conversation. It has a reputation as a hipster hotel but the thing that made my stay so memorable was the attention to detail. The design and the staff create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. Everything from the sofas and books in the living room area,...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
