I'll definitely return to Michelberger. This hotel was all we could have asked for and a bit more. This time we travelled without any kids, so we chose the smallest room. The rooms are small, but they are cozy, comfortable and just right for a couple. And you would rather hang out in the lounge, in the bar or in...

Couldn't have been happier with this hotel when we stayed for 2 days in June 2012. Perfectly located next to awesome Kreuzberg (and 2 minutes from the wall), very comfortable and stylish rooms (we stayed in the loft room), awesome interiors (love all the cuckoo clocks everywhere) and delish breakfast smorgasbord everymorning. I also love the hotel's customised travel guides...

I slept there for only one night but It is really a fantastic hotel. Small but really comfortable room and a cool design. Friendly and efficient staff and a cozy bar to have a beer. I had lunch in their restaurant wich was perfect good value for money. Also no remarks on the breakfast. Perfect stay

After travelling for 3 months, and staying in over 20 different hotels etc, I can honestly say this is my favorite place of anywhere we stayed! Everyone who worked there was so friendly, the rooms were great (we had a cosy and it was exactly that, so lovely and cosy), the location fantastic, close to plenty of wee eateries, bars,...

My family stayed at the Michelberger Hotel Berlin for a couple nights in July 2012. Would we stay here again – you bet. Would we recommend it to friends? Well, the hotel has the movie The Big Lebowski playing on plasma TV’s in all the hotel hallways on a continuous loop. The bar in the hotel has a giant birds...

I just got back from a 4day citytrip to Berlin with my girlfriend, and I must say, the MichelBerger Hotel is very close to perfection! We had very high expectations: a couple of friends already stayed there, and we read a lot on TripAdvisor and other travel blogs. But it was even better than we ever could have imagined! The...

We stayed in the Michelberger in August 2012 for 5 nights in room 102 (Loft Room), having read many excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We've visited Berlin before, previously staying in Mitte but where keen to try another area to gain a different experience from this excellent, vibrant city. We arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a warm,...

It's as though all of my favourite creative people got together and created their ultimate hotel. I couldn't fault the hotel at all. Every detail has been covered and is presented in a way that will leave you smiling. I'd love to write a bad review to keep this place a secret but that would be selfish. If you are...

I visited Berlin for the weekend in August 2012 with 3 friends (all girls). We stayed at the Micehelberger afetr hearing good things about it and I am pleased to say it is all true! The hotel has a hostel vibe in that its really edgy and cool but not in a grimey hostel way if that makes sense! We...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
