Nice staff. They waited for you, when you first visiting. And then you won't see they much at reception at other time. The hostel is located at second floor. Ground floor is a bar, with live band, playing music. I thought they closed at 3 o'clock, because every night i stayed there, i don't read my watch after 3. It...

The hostel quite nice, spacey room, good district, nice staff that was able to give us lots of tips. However, prior to our arrival we had received notification that the wifi was down and that we would each get a 5 euro refund a night for keeping the reservation despite this downside. When we arrived, they did not give us...

The hostel looked very hip on the pictures and the grafiti is quite nice indeed.. But that's about it. Bathrooms are disgusting. One bathroom has a bathtub, but I guess no sane person would ever sit down in there. Showering in it was also challenging since you had to hold the shower head in your hand since there was no...

Funky, fun place, super cheap. Great for solo travelers. There is always music, people, and beers available. Location is great. Music can be loud at night, but I was usually out til late anyhow. Bathroom is a little damp and dark, but got the job done. Laundry service available.

Simply disgusting. Everything was dirty, but I mean REALLY dirty. The floor, the sheets of the bed, the toilets, the shower... It was a disaster. You can see it on my photos. No one never cleaned anything. Very bad service, we were asked to pay everything on the first day and we had to negotiate to pay a little each...

There is mold everywhere! So if you can’t stand that, don’t go there. It is hard to find because it is under construction. Just walk thru the Spätkauf! So... Why the 5 stars? Location and staff! It's just one stop to Alexanderplatz!

Three of us were sharing a room, which was nicely decorated though the floor was quite grubby. The beds creaked quite a bed and at least one had a metal bar under the mattress that was quite uncomfortable. The showers weren't fantastic and there were signs of damp in the bathroom (poor ventilation). It was also kind of hit and...

Staying at this hostel feels like staying at someone's flat. The staff is super friendly, the bathrooms are clean, showers are good, free wifi and the beds are comfortable enough. There are no luxuries, but if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay this is it! The location is very good as well, there are plenty...

I reserved a room for three days and it was the greatest thing I did in Berlin! Welcoming personal , easygoing atmosphere among roommates, with whom I spent really great time there! The hostel is cool, with graffiti everywhere , but it doesn't give the impression to be run-down. Great location, in the core of the core of the city,...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

“If you take the six bed dorm invest in some earplugs. Not just for noisy sleepers, but sometimes they have events on the main floor (where the six bed dorms are) which can get a little loud if you're tired from a long day. However that being said, they're not noisy for long, the events usually wrap up around 11 to 12 at night.”
