I have never forgotten this hostel. The staffs and owner make the place so friendly, they are open mind. My only regret was I had stayed a few days and I didnt enjoy the amazing Berlin as I'd like to because I've remained most of the time in the hostel... Free breakfast and good location. ps actually I stayed in...

Okay so the buiding did look dodgy but honestly the hostel is so worth the four story climb. It was filled with really interesting people and was surprisingly cleaning with a very relaxed mood. The guys who run it are super nice and helpful. Plus such a bonus that it has a kitchen with a whole load of free food....

The first time I visited Berlin I was on my own and when I turned up at the ajar door to a dark corridor to Hostel Aloha the only thought running through my head was 'what have I done?'. Two flights (or so) up and I stepped into the hostel itself and immediately breathed a sigh of relief! It was...

At first I was disappointed but the hostel grew on me and I ended up really liking it. At first the staff seem unfriendly but actually they are just very relaxed, the whole hostel carries that vibe. It was quite dirty, dusty under the beds and the kitchen wasn't clean, but the breakfast was fine, the location suited me very...

This hostel had the friendliest staff and the most to offer for the guests. Free breakfast, free snacks and free coffee and tea all day! The staff give out maps and outline places to go. They help you get to know the city. The hostel was pretty clean and had a nice relaxed vibe to it. Plenty of internet and...

The service was horrible. No one was ever at reception. The gavtity itself was alright although a little under kept but the hostel was through a convenience store with a poor lit, graffitied hallway- super shady. It's not close to anything at all either.

Fisrtly I truly want to say that yes, it was nice idea to stay here. Nice place - good location, close to metro and cheap shops, two balconies - having a breakfast outside watching life and sun on streets are wonderful. There are strange and weird pictures (but so many bright colours :)!) on the walls on first floor -...

I stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of April and I am already planning to come back in the summer. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, it literally just feels like you're living in a flat. It's always clean, there are several common rooms where you can watch movies or get to know everyone else,...

I stayed there for 3 weeks and loved it! I got a single bed in a 6 beds room and it was comfortable, slept really good and the people where very nice. Twice during my stay, the hostel management arranged a huge meal for the hostel free of charge! I highly recommend staying there!

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

“If you take the six bed dorm invest in some earplugs. Not just for noisy sleepers, but sometimes they have events on the main floor (where the six bed dorms are) which can get a little loud if you're tired from a long day. However that being said, they're not noisy for long, the events usually wrap up around 11 to 12 at night.”
