We stayed here for 5 nights while in Berlin. The hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk to many of the main sights and the metro stop was right across the street. You did have to walk a little ways to find restaurants but there were many to choose from. The staff provided excellent service and...

First off, if you're an American who subscribes by the mantra that bigger is better, be prepared to leave that mentality at home. Definitely stay at the Cosmo, but just understand that European rooms may be smaller than you expect. I brought a huge check bag and it took up a lot of the room. Fortunately we were out exploring...

Second time staying on business. Hotels really nice rooms are ok. Dinning room looks nice but unfortunately the food does not deliver. Waited 35 minutes in an empty Resteraunt for a very simple salad and a bowl of very very over cooked pasta which I sent back. When I complained I was given a list of excuses such as room...

The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Spittelmarkt metro station. I stayed on the seventh floor and had a nice small balcony. The balcony is just big enough to step out onto for a look around. The rooms were nice, clean, and modern. The windows had external blinds that were electronically controlled along with two layers of...

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the easter weekend (3 nights) for my birthday. We were upgraded at no extra cost on arrival and our room was very large and stylish. We had a corner suite on the second floor so managed to get free wifi instead of having to pay which was a massive bonus, it's a shame...

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and it was great! It is in perfect location around half way between Alexander Platz and Potsdamer Platz, and right across the road from Spittelmarkt tube station. It is also around a 10-15 minute walk to Check Point Charlie and the museum area of Berlin. The hotel is really modern, with large...

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel room was huge - very clean and spacious, with a small but good gym hidden away. It's in a very quiet area though with not much going on around it, even coffee shops were a good walk away. Free Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby. And the traffic lights outside the...

One of the top hotels in its category in Berlin. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom with walk-in shower. The breakfast is amazing. The hotel is conveniently located. Standard rooms are less suitable for business stays.

We stayed at the Cosmo whilst in Berlin for a short break and were very impressed. Just opposite the Spittelmarkt metro station and so handy for getting around for all of the sights, the Cosmo is on a busy junction but don't let that put you off.The double glazing is very effective. We had a comfort room which was of reasonable...

The hotel itself is very modern and is relatively close to most city attractions, Alexanderplatz being the closest. It is set within a residential area however which does give off a traditional German neighbourhood feel. It wasn't ideally located in a tourist area. Check in was quick and we were given a room on the 6th floor. Our room faced...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
