We arrived two days before Christmas. Our arrival was welcomed with smiles from reception staff. Our room was a disappointment as there was no hot water. We were moved to another room which was a family room and not at all suitable so we requested another. We were then given a room which had recently been refurbished which suited us....

The Berliner Hof is something between 3 and 4 star and as I discovered, all rooms in each grouping of room status are not equal. Centrally located in West Berlin it is virtually next door to the famous Europa Centre with easy access to many transport routes. Prior to booking through a well known online agency I was aware of...

Hotel is in a great locations for Bars, shops and restaurants. It’s only 5 mins from the Zoo Train station, so very easy access from the airport. The Rooms were kept very clean and there’s very little noise from the busy street Below. We had a comfort room, the room layout is long, with a small separate area, with desk,...

The room was clean, the staff professional, and the prices reasonable. The lowest level, with exit to the street was often littered with trash. Someone cleaned it after our second night so maybe it's only messy during weekends. The hot water was unpredictable and scalding.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel from 9th-11th December for a long weekend to enjoy the Christmas markets. To start with the location is PERFECT for this as you have a fantastic market literally on your doorstep. You also have dozens of great shops (including Berlin's answer to Selfridges) so you can, and we did, spent a whole...

We stayed at the BHH for 2 nights in early December for our first visit ever to Berlin and were very impressed. It is ideally situated to the SW of Tiergarten and is very conveniently located less than 5 minutes walk from the Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station, which is one of the main train stations that the Airport Express...

A well situated hotel for central Berlin shops, restaurants and city tours. Our room was basic but clean. As we were at the rear of the hotel it was very quiet with no road noise. I would highly recommend the hotel for a city break - shops, restaurants and city tour buses all within 5 minutes walk. The Christmas Market...

Simple hotel with very good location. Good breakfast with a lot of choises but not huge. Plus: Location, staff service, price level, big size of family rooms, good wi-fi in rooms, good for the big family Minus: Rooms a bit worn, smells of tobacco smoke in the tiny reception, extremely noisy in breakfast room

This was a hotel my partner and I stayed at for our last leg of our Euro trip adventure after Copenhagen and Paris, and as far as hotels go, this was the best of the lot. We may not have spent much time in the hotel itself as we wanted to see as much of Berlin as possible, but we...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
