We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. From arrival to departure our stay was 100% satisfactory. Our room on 4th floor was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Unlike many European hotels, tea making facilities are available in the room - no milk. The star attraction has to be the gigantic fish tank in the foyer which has to be...

This is the reaction upon entering the hotel atrium and seeing the huge cylindrical aquarium dominating the central space. We chose an internal room on the 6th floor facing the fish and the view from the bed gave the illusion of being under water. This made the hotel special. The room itself was clean, modern and comfortable. We had to...

Only 10 minutes from the train station at Alexanderplatz past a chick selection of restaurants and coffee shops is located the Radisson Blu. Asked if we wanted a view inside or out and we opted for the inside view which meant we could look out onto the largest indoor aquarium you could ever wish for. Great friendly service in every...

Upon entering the hotel and checking in, I had to apologise for my ignorance to the member of staff checking us in, I was taken back by the enormous fish tank in the lobby, this really makes this place unique and worth a stay in itself. The rooms are pretty average other than the nic view of the fish tank,...

This hotel certainly has the wow factor! The aquadome is an amazing centrepiece to the hotel. The service, facilities and rooms are all excellent. As it was January we were able to hold our room til 3pm on checkout which was handy as our flight wasn't til late. The drinks at the bar are on the pricey side but that's...

Lovely hotel, great location. Loved Berlin, only downside is that people smoke in the local bars at night, which is forgotten how off-putting it was and all my clothes stink. Hotel is very clean and stylish.. Lots of places to visit nearby and loads of places to eat nearby also.

The hotel was lovely as were the staff. Good central location with bars and restaurants nearby. However I was a little unhappy with housekeeping as our bed linen was not changed until day 4 of our 4 night stay! Not what I expect for over £100.00 per night! This was especially important as my only other complaint is that I...

We visited the Radisson at the beginning of December for a Christmas Market/short city break. The hotel benefits from a superb location just a few minutes from Alexander Platz/Museum Island and the Cathedral. The other main tourist attractions such as Brandenburg Gate/Checkpoint Charlie etc., are all within a 20/30 minute walk. The Gendarme (sp?) Christmas market was almost directly opposite...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights from Glasgow. We flew to Berlin Schönefeld Airport and got the train from the station 2 minutes walk from the airport called Berlin Flughafen Schönefeld. As soon as you step out of the airport you can see the train station, just follow the roofed walkway to the end. At the train...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
