Normally stay at the Melia or Radissson Blu in the east. I only went this trip as I got flights from Glasgow for £31 return and I was looking to make it a cheap one. Hotel is in a nice area with plenty of restraunts/bars nearby. U and S stations a short walk away. Room was basic but clean. At...

I am staying while writing this . The location is decent and cost was reasonable. It was fairly clean but most of the staff was absolutely non-responsive( especially the horrible guy running the front desk on Friday 11.11.16 at 21:00 shift). I would remove him. He was impolite and slow in responding. I find someone who like to work in...

If you can put up with the fact that you can hear your neighbors on every side talking through the thin walls, then I guess this hotel is ideal. Breakfast is standard international with a various selection of breakfast food. Room is tidy, but we missed the usual little soap and shampoo with hotel logo. We didn't get coffee and...

We stayed 4 nights during our trip to Berlin. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly. Room was first three nights very quiet, but last night some noise came from other rooms. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Ernst-Reuter-Platz U-bahn station, so the location is excellent. Only flaws were that, there was...

Good value hotel, great breakfast and great location once you bfind your bearings. Local area has a few bars and restaurants but you will be only a ten minute walk to the main shopping and entertainment street. A one minute walk to the nearest underground station and bus stop.

The room was small but enough for a good rest, it had a desk, TV, closet, safe with electronic lock, and a comfortable bathroom with shower. The staff was really friendly and helpful at all times. The location is great, it is close to the Ernst Reuter platz U-Bahn station that can take you to all important places that Berlin...

Very clean and quiet. Looks to be very recently renovated with a very modern bathroom. We had a 5 bed, family room for the 4 of us. High ceilings, and a larger room than we were expecting. Close to transit and good local restaurants. The only negative was the lack of parking.

One week on business in September 2016. Not quite the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but not far away. Pros: close to some nice restaurants, the zoo, S-Bahn stations. Cons: 1. Mosquitos. In the room. All night. Complained 3 times and nothing happened. Got bitten a lot. My arms still hurt from all the bites. A previous guest obviously...

Hotel Gates offers good quality for the price and for its three stars. Being located in Charlottenburg adds value to the hotel since there are very good cafes and restaurants around. Ku-dam is a pleasant 12-15 minutes walk. The hotel is basic and adequate. The rooms are comfortable. Our’s was a family stay therefore we had one triple room and...

Last minute booking, with less than a week's notice. Room was quite small but clean and quiet (across the courtyard- I think cheaper rooms might be located there)- we only booked it to sleep so it had what we needed- comfortable beds and bathroom. Our rate did not include breakfast and we didn't eat at the hotel so unable to...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
