The hotel was beautiful and old. The toilets were renovated though and room comfortable. The problem was the staff, they seemed quite unfriendly and didn't do anything else that was compulsory. They answered to your questions as shortly as possible with a seemingly fake smile. Not coming back again since we didn't feel welcomed at any point. Also, the breakfest... More

It's In a nice neighborhood, Friendly staff. Spacious rooms, ok beds, old bathrooms, and it's a bit noisy if you get a room over looking the Main Street! I honestly think the management needs to renovate this place, or at least the bathrooms. It's ok overall but it can do a lot better.

This hotel is a lovely hotel, yes it could do with a lick of paint here and there but really it doesn't affect your stay. Room was a generous size very comfortably accommodated us 3 adults, it also came with a rocking horse inside it, we even came back here at night with a bottle or 2 of wine to... More

We stayed here for three nights just recently. We loved the hotel, it's old times feel and comfortable rooms. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The 48 bus which takes you into Potsdammer Platz and the Mitte quarter is right outside. But it is only a 10 minute walk anyway. There is Underground station a few minutes walking away.... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights just recently. We loved the hotel, it is old and quirky with a homely feel and comfortable rooms. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was varied and tasty. The 48 bus which takes you into Potsdammer Platz is right outside. But it is only a... More

The hotel itself is okay and the decor is really authentic 1920/30's in the reception and entrance. However the room we were given was really not worth the money we paid. We found it to be really basic, the bed was broken, the toilet seat wasn't fixed to the toilet (we had fun finding that out...) and the radiator was... More

I spent one night in this hotel for work. I like the fact that the hotel has an old-timey feel. It is not one of those hotels that could be anywhere in the world, it is definitely German. The room is spacious enough, with a large bathroom attached. It is quiet. There is a restaurant attached that serves a simple... More

We had a dreadful experience at this hotel. While recognising it was at the lower end of the range we were unprepared for the aggressive and arrogant behaviour of the male who worked in the afternoons and evenings ( 14-15 July 2016). Not only was he unhelpful in the extreme it seemed he took delight in making the smallest matters... More

Location wise it's great...there's a bus stop right outside that takes you to the main railway station. A short walk away is the metro with connections to everywhere. The room was clean, but quite small...if you have lots of luggage you will struggle. Bathroom was clean but tiny (and the water from the pipes gave a whiff of something not... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
