Staying here at least one a year for over 15 years now and I still like this hotel because of its prime location close to public transport in a quiet street very near to Wittenbergplatz and KaDeWe. This time they upgraded me to a higher room category (renovated room 351), and a little cake was brought to my room on...

Hotel is brilliantly located just off Wittenburgplatz, which has excellent transport links to the rest of the city and lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. 25 minutes by public transport from Tegel airport. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was a little dated but very clean and the shower was excellent. The hotel seems to be being refurbished so...

Old style room but clean and fresh. Great location!! Wifi is so so poor its nit even worth it. Takes about a minute or 2 to get up a web page and you have to do this everytime. Tested the speed of internet and got barely 0.36 mb!!

Our Check in did not go as planned. Due to the fault of the tour operator the hotel did not see our reservation. The manager calmed us down, offered us Coffee, and in a reasonable time offered us a room while they were sorting things out. The hotel and the rooms remind me of College dorm, but it was comfortable...

A fabulous welcome once again. Took 707 which was a comfort room and improved since last visit. Breakfast just as good as last visits and staff really helpful. The only comment is the beds need new mattress as rather soft. Fabulous location for shopping and walks..

- The rooms seem cheap at first with a low-ish rate compared to some other places. That’s just how they suck you in. Then they nickel and dime for everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. You find a water bottle in your room each day. If you drink it, it’s another 5 Euro per day. My wife had surgery so could...

Dear Phillip S, What a pity to read you were very dissatisfied with staying with us. But regarding the multitude of your claims we cannot understand the reason why you did not inform us about any inconvenience personally during your stay. That would have given us the chance to solve some issues and to offer you a much better time...

Stayed six nights here. Very close to KaDeWe, Wittenbergplatz station and the bus stops of 100 line, and you can also walk to Zoologischer station within 15 minutes. The breakfast costs a little bit expensive, so it is a good idea to have your breakfast at the neighboring cafes opening early in the morning. Spotless clean, warm room... most of...

It's the little things that make or break your impressions of a hotel and all too often the people who run them, seem unable to grasp that basic concept. The Sorat Ambassador ought to be a straight-up-and-down four star tripadvisor type of place: big bright comfortable rooms, good room rates and room deals, ample breakfast buffet, excellent location close to...

I cannot praise the staff at the Sorat Hotel Ambassador highly enough. The thoughtfulness to place a lovely food gift basket and card in my room on the day of my Birthday even though I had not made it known to them was so surprising and unexpected. I also need to mention a big thank you to Kevin for his...

We are back for the second year and we like this very clean hotel with a great location and friendly staff. The only small problem is that this an old hotel and the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours. Also, It would be great to add brown sugar and honey with coffee and tea.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
