The location is really good and the room was warm, even if it was snowing outside. The furnitures in the room looked really old. The bed sheets and the toilet was cleaning. The staff were really friendly.

Stayed here for one night on a weekend trip to Berlin. The room was spacious and clean and the lady on the desk when we arrived was friendly. The hotel is in a brilliant location for getting from the airport and is central for seeing the city. Definitely recommend and would stay here again myself!

We booked this well in advance for a 3 night break in Berlin. Had some concerns before going as recent reviews not that good. Returned on 25th September and could not wait to leave. On arrival the hotel reception area is cramped, dark and grubby. First concerns regarding cleanliness were confirmed, removed 16 black hairs of varying size from my...

The positives: the price!; good location - very convenient for underground and restaurants; breakfast was good value at 7 euros each; friendly owner. Negatives: the dining room has been relocated to a small room upstairs & the grand dining room and the frontage shown in the photos is now a Kebab Shop; entrance to the hotel is up the side...

I had a very disappointing experience with this place. I got a room on the 4th floor. No elevator, and I'm travelling for a couple of weeks so I had to carry my suitcase upstairs. The room had no AC and it had around a 100 degrees. It wasn't that clean either so the only redeeming qualities were the price...

If you get a good deal on the price it may be worth it to stay here. The good: My room was clean (except under bed the carpet was dusty), the bathroom was of fairly recent vintage and clean. There was lox at breakfast. Location is convenient to bars, restaurants, decent shopping and public transport. Desk manager (owner?) was pleasant...

We chose this hotel based on its location. About ten minute’s walk from Friedrich Street Station, a thirty minute walk from Hopbanhof (Berlin’s main station), fifteen minutes’ walk from museum island, 30 minutes walk to Brandenburg Tor, and the U6 stop for Orainienburger Tor on the doorstep. This was perfect for backpackers arriving by ICE and planning to use public...

I had a single room for a week, and was very satisfied from the experience. Pros: - the owners are very kind and welcoming. - it's located in a central place (many universities, landmarks, places to eat etc. are in a walking distance). - the price is cheap. - the rooms are cleaned and supplied with soaps, shampoos, and toilet...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
