I regularly stayed here from about 2006 to 2011. It is a fantastic location and very comfortable plus excellent value. I'm travelling to Berlin again in October and really sad that it seems to have closed down so I've had to book elsewhere. Could the owners, if they see this message, say why they have closed and if they will...

This is a great place to stay in Berlin if you're a female and travel alone or with girl-friends. I booked a single room with facilities, and the hotel provided me a double room which was really big with spacious bathroom. The hotel had a very solitary location and atmosphere. I practically didn't met any of the guests or staff...

Really centrally located hostel, right near the holocaust memorial- great as a starting point for a minibreak. The hostel itself is a bit tired in its decor and could do with updating- the furnishings reminded me of 90's student accom and room was a bit cobwebby. Would thoroughly recommend it for female travellers, solo or with companions.

If your a woman who needs a single room or a group of you on a "hen party" then this hotel is ideal. Situated in a quiet street it has very comfortable rooms with plenty of space altho simply furnished (no tv), with optional use of breakfast room (breakfast is very good value for money).. But the best thing is...

I was travelling solo and stayed here for 3 nights. Clean, spacious rooms, basic furnishings. I really liked the location as it was so central - I arrived close to midnight and had no trouble finding the place after dropping off the airport shuttle on unter den linden, and on subsequent days, it was easy to get to all many...

Spartan aesthetic but clean, friendly and helpful hotel. Location wise it's excellent, it's literally a 3 min walk to the U2 Ubahn (train) a major line that connects u to Alexanderplatz a major train station hub and center of the city. Also around the corner is a supermarket and 2 blocks filled with restaurants. Also getting to Tegel airport was...

I stayed here for three nights, Fri Feb 19 - Mon Feb 22. I paid 55 Euros per night for a spacious private room with an en-suite bathroom; breakfast was not included in the price. I thought the hotel was safe, clean, and quiet. The two downsides that I remember were that the rooms were airless and there are no...

The accomodations were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good and reasonably priced. The location was spectacular; within a couple of blocks of the underground, restaurants, various types of shops (including a large grocery store), Brandengurg Tor.... The location felt very comfortable and secure. The only downside was that rooms are on the ground floor so I...

Stayed at the Intermezzo hotel with my 11-year old son. All rooms were on ground floor, which was fine by us, we got to watch people go by :) Very little traffic in this street - despite it being right in the middle of "everything" in Berlin!! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I arrived in Berlin alone and with an accommodation arrangement that fell through. A phone call on my mobile from the Reichstag secured a booking and I was there by taxi in an hour. The rooms are decorated by Ikea, but are spotless. The location is so central and directly across the street from Mohrestrasse station where the train takes...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
