I stayed in hostel with a bigger group. I would say that the hostel is in good condition and it has good price. The rooms were clean and the location is walking distance to a few sights. Maybe for some it can be a little bit too far, but for us the location was ok. I would recommend it!

As an overall rating, I would actually say this property is GOOD, i.e. between average and very good. The hostel is big, very big, which means you normally do not have to book a very long time in advance, and it is still relatively cheap. Of course, its mere size somewhat makes it impersonal, but it is neat, clean and...

We visited Berlin with family. I choose this hostel due to some good reviews and affordable price per room. As we were 4 adults, i booked quadratal room with 2 bunks for 4 people. Pros:- 1) good breakfast 2) not very low, but adequate price cons:- 1) almost 1 km from nearest metro station 2) no soup in the room...

It's my first time staying in a hostel and this hostel is not that bad. The rooms are clean. Location is not far from many of the attractions in Berlin. Breakfast is fine. Dinner always change daily; if you are lucky, then it is worth it for 6.50 euro. It might not have that 'hostel feel' since there are many...

If you are taking a group on holiday that you don't like very much, or you are looking for somewhere to film a modern day update of Oliver Twist, then this is the place for you. If however, you are looking for somewhere halfway pleasant to stay in Berlin, stay anywhere else - which is where I was dreaming about...

Overall this is a good choice if you're doing Berlin on a tight budget. Excellent all you can eat Breakfast included in price and buffet evening meal a very reasonable 6.50 euros. Very clean. Easy walking distance to Potsdamer Platz, Tiergarten, Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate. Helpful staff. Any negatives? It's a bit big and impersonal and not the best for...

A great place to stretch after a great but tiring day touring the beautiful city of Berlin. Guys at the reception are great, knowledgeable and willing to help. Food for breakfast is ample and packed lunch is also available. Rooms are maintained impeccably clean, common showers are cleaned regularly. At times you may find some smell though. Lockers in the rooms are...

Not *easy* to find, thanks to a misleading sign in the subway station, but a great place to stay. Comfortable, convenient to public transport and shops, and the buffet breakfasts and dinners are a real bargain. Friendly and helpful staff, fluent in English. Good free wifi in the public areas, with desktops for hire. I was there during Germany's last...

I went there twice in November 2010 and in the same month one year later. I loved the hostel, nothing to say. It was my first experience with hostels and it actually helped me to open my mind and everything. Jugendherberge Berlin International will always be part of great great great memories! I can't understand this cheap number at all....

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
