I had a last minute trip to Berlin and I was having trouble finding availability at places, so I booked randomly through an online aggregating site. My room rate was about half of the US State Department per diem, so I wasn't expecting much but since it was close to the u-bahn line I wanted, I went with it. I...

Excellent hotel. I stayed 3 nights in July and I really can't fault the location or the service received. The staff were extremely friendly (the concierge was especially helpful) and the rooms were large, airy and bright, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone seeking somewhere above average for thier stay. If you like glass lifts, painted cows, and wierd...

We stayed at the Swissotel for 5 nights. It's definitely worth paying a bit more for one of the rooms which look over the Kurfurstendamm. They have, as others have pointed out, floor to ceiling windows and an excellent view over the busy streets below. The staff were excellent: I found the bed rather hard and was immediately offered an...

Our business took us to Berlin for couple of days and we chose Swissotel to stay - it was freezing cold in Feb, 2010. But the warmth and grandeur the hotel presented to us took all our shivers away. We splurged in a vast collection of wines and cheese at the hotel bar. And the bed was the softest that...

What a really great hotel this is. We had booked three days early in the week and on arrival found we had been upgraded to a 'grand' room. And indeed it was grand. So big and comfy we didn't want to leave it but being in historic Berlin we felt we had to. It was home from home. All the...

Nice and easy check in, despite I did not have my voucher at hand ( it reversed to me at chack out, when while being on a hurry I had to stop and solve that). The most I liked the big rooms and the so smooth pillows. also large bathroom featuring both bathtube and shower cabin. Nespresso available in the...

Our stay from arrival to departure five days later was very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly and courteous. The bed linen and towels were changed several times during our stay even though we did not specifically request this. The breakfast choice was more than enough to set us up for a day...

We stayed in the Swissotel Berlin for 5 nights the hotel was excellent and well located close by the U-bahn and easy walking distance to many of the main tourist attractions. The hotel staff were without exception professional, friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable with great views on to the Kurfurstendamm. The bed was solid and very good...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
