I wanted to stay in this neighborhood because my friends live there. As described the apartment sounds quaint. The check-in process was unorganized. I phoned to say when I was arriving. When I arrived the people were cleaning and criticized me for being early. The apartment is like other reviewers have stated. The stairs that you have to climb between...

We stayed in a small apartment for 4 nights which had a bit of an odd set up split over three levels: a kitchen and seating area with a bunk style bed up a ladder and a bathroom down a precarious spiral staircase.I personally enjoyed the quirkiness of this but I'd avoid if you have any mobility or balance issues....

Where to start. Not having a reception is a big minus, especially when it means having to make a phone call from your non-German phone and get charged alot. I originally told them I would arrive at 8pm, but once I got to Berlin I had some trouble with the buses and trains, and realized I would be late. I...

I had rented this apartment for straight 7 months during my study and work in 2011. Overall, the monthly rent cost is quite affordable. If I'm not mistaken the monthly rent is cost about € 400 pro monat, include with the 24 hrs wi-fi and excellent kitchen equipment, cozy bed and weekly cleaning services. Hence, the apartment location is very...

I stayed in a 'Maisonette Appartment' four nights in april with a friend. Over all, the appartment was ok, but with some annoying flaws. For example, we were only given two bath towels and no hand towels or a towel for the floor - for when stepping out of the bath. It was slightly annoying having to use the same...

Apparently there are now two venues in Berlin for Excellent Apartments. I stayed at the one in Kreuzberg at Halleshes Tor. The room was nice and reasonable size and there were two beds, even though I only booked a single. The furntiture was a little basic but the room was warm and quite comfortable with a table and chairs. Easy...

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
