Great hotel, very welcoming, friendly staff. Excellent room and hotel very well presented. Breakfast was excellent. Quiet location opposite a pleasant park. About a 20 minute walk to Alexanderplatz and a bit further to city centre. Good bus service. Good value for money.

We stayed here in two connected rooms for 4 nights and had a lot of fun. The hotel location is great. Close enough to everything but completely isolated from the noise of other popular locations such as Alexanderplatz. A #200 bus station 100m from the front door and a M4 tram 5 min walk make it great to get to...

The hotel is not in the city centre but not far away either. Good bus and tramconnections. We had comfortrooms but I am not sure what the differens between comfort and standard rooms is. Anyway our rooms were so quiet and the sleepingquality was superb! Brekfast was nice, plenty to choose from. If you like to have a good schnitzel...

We should have paid more attention to some of the other tripadvisor reviews for this hotel but had left organising our holiday a bit late so booked a bit last minute. POSITIVES: Great location for exploring the centre of Berlin. About 15 - 20 mins walk from Alexanderplatz. We were there for 6 nights (an extra 2 courtesy of a...

This hotel has earned three stars from me rather than two only because of the great staff. They were helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed with my room. It was listed as non-smoking, but that's just a lie. It smelled so disgusting. When I asked for a room change, the receptionist said the hotel was fully booked...

We stayed here as an anniversary trip to Berlin. We arrived 2 hours before check in and we were greeted by a very cheerful and helpful reception team. Although early, we were told our room was ready and that we had been upgraded! When we got to the room, we found that the bed and bathroom had been decorated with...

Stayed three nights at Victor's, had a great big room with large windows we could open... felt like we were in a palace... absolutely loved the doorbell! Front desk staff courteous and helpful, if a bit stiff, but that's okay, they did their job well. Went twice to a wonderful Italian restaurant a few blocks away, and everywhere else was...

Visited Berlin for our wedding anniversary and stayed in this great hotel. The check in process was quick and straightforward and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is close to bus stops and the tram lines giving easy access to the city centre. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of choice and my wife was delighted to find...

Was in Berlin for 2 nights. The check in process was smooth and easy. Very quick and helpful staff. The hotel is easy to access from the train station by taxi or by bus. Hotel is close to the city. Walking distance to some good restaurants and yet very quiet inside the hotel. Has a very modern look and very...

The hotel is a short walk away from Alexanderplatz, across the street from Volkspark Friedrichshain. The staff were very friendly and helpful: I had a problem with the internet connection in my room, and they came up to check, confirmed there was a problem, and immediately found me another room. They also fixed me a breakfast bag as I was...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
