After Paris in December we visited Berlin. I speak German but my husband does not, and he expected the same treatment as in Paris, namely that no one would ever answer to us in English! He was pleasantly surprised on arrival. From reception, to the...More
We were very happy to have stayed at Indigo. Checkin was a pleasure with Marie who was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the seventh floor with a nice view of TV Tower. The room was small (maybe alarmingly so by American standards!) but...More

To travel from Tegel airport take the TXL bus to AlexanderPlatz and then it's a short walk. The platz is a major hub for S+U and trams/buses. Our standard room was quite small and had a smoking smell, but they fixed up the smell the...More
We stayed here recently. Close to a major shopping area and public transportation (bus, trams, s-bahn and u-bahn). Tourist sites are quite spread out in Berlin, so, the most important would be public transport which seems very efficient in berlin. Rooms are small, but nonetheless...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
