The Hotel Indigo provides a centrally based location to hit the star sights of Berlin especially Museum Island Unter den linden, the spree river and Karl Marx Alley. The Hottel felt comfortable and. Arty with a stylish internal courtyard which had was actually being tended to by sculptors as we enjoyed drinks there. The Hotel reflects the stylish and artistic...

The headline says it all. Wifi is almost unusable which makes this an awful place for a business trip, the wait staff during breakfast were cold and rude towards us, not worth the 19 euros they charge for food. The rooms are nice however, a bit cramped with little room for your suitcase. Also be careful getting out of the...

The Hotel Indigo is a ver modern hotel just a 200 meters from the main square of Alexanderplatz. We had a high room with a view of the platz itself with floor to ceiling windows (and good blinds/ curtains). The room continues the modern design which works but may not be everybody's taste. The bed is comfortable with a decent...

The staff made us really welcome, the room was clean and comfortable. Not much storage space but suitcases fit easily under the bed so gives easy access to anything you can't hang. 2 minutes from Alexanderplatz, this trendy hotel is kind of split with the Holiday Inn (you can walk from one to the other internally). Good breakfast, good quality and variety, hot and cold food. Bar food and dinner also good, with a good bar area that is pretty cool. Warhol-like decor, but good selection of whiskey, gin, vodka.....surprisingly poor beers...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
