Great boutique hotel with 37 rooms located in the atmospheric district Prenzlauer Berg, bustling with cafes, bars and restaurants. Only a stone's throw away from Berlin's trendiest attractions. All studios, apartments, and suites are equipped with wooden parquet floors, high ceilings and antique period pieces which go hand in hand with modern furnishings. The variety of decoration takes in modern, classical, oriental and chic. Every room is also utterly unique - no two are the same. Two lovely Mediterranean gardens invite you to chill out. Enjoy a great breakfast buffet in our "oceanic" restaurant "Club del Mar".
Berlin is a pretty cool place these days and this hotel counts as among the coolest. It’s a gorgeous, non corporate hostelry and if you can get a booking do it! If you want to be pampered with scores of subservient, bored employees who smile like robots and vanish like smoke, then forget this place. It scores on its informality, high quality rooms and compelling atmosphere. For example, if you turn up after about 11.30 pm you’ll have to unlock a special key box and follow the instructions to enter and reach your room. Rooms are a delight, all colour coded and with many original, creative touches. The rooms are like mini apartments and you certainly won’t feel that sense of this is just another hotel room somewhere in yet another capital city. A great place to arrange to meet…

Ackselhaus is a very pleasant boutique hotel. Spacious apartment for a couple or one in my case. It consists of a large bedroom Queen bed, side tables, wardrobe, small table and two chairs a small equipped kitchen and well set out bathroom. It is absolutely clean. Pleasant and helpful staff and a great breakfast is included in the price. There is a lift and staff will also help with bags. It is two blocks from the tram into Central Berlin. Also great restaurants all around the hotel.

What a great place to stay in Berlin. The area, north of the city centre is lovely with plenty of good restaurants and bars. There is easy access to the centre via the many efficient methods of travel. We got a day pass for 7 euros and were on trams, train, underground and ferry! Like much of Berlin there are a lot of green spaces. Ackselhaus is a great place to stay. We were in Flora which had everything we needed and good exercise being on the top floor. I requested a fan as we were there during an unseasonably hot spell and they provided this great one that kept us cool. The cout yard is very pretty and all the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Thank you for making our first trip to Berlin so special

We spent 6 nights at Ackselhaus and highly recommend it. The location is very central with a subway station 10 minutes walk away and a tram 1 minute away. The area is packed with restaurants and cafes but is still relatively quiet at night. The room we stayed in was excellent with a large bathroom, separate WC, a kitchenette/fridge and a nespresso machine. The staff were delightful and helpful and someone was at reception till 10pm each day in case of questions. Would definitely stay here again if in Berlin.

First it is a lovely old building and has been renovated very beautifully and artistically. Secondly, it is a wonderful location in Prenzlauer Berg - quiet and residential, and only two subway stops from Alexanderplatz or a nice 15- 20 minute walk to the centre. There are so many things we loved about this hotel - we loved going to what felt like a pavement cafe for breakfast, rather than the normal hotel breakfast room, we loved the location, near a huge number of delightful restaurants and only 10 - 15 minutes walk from Mauer Park for the Sunday flea market. There were quite a few negatives however - if it was cheaper I wouldn't have minded, but it is reasonably expensive and certain things should have been better for the price. We stayed with friends in The Blue House -…

This hotel is one of a kind. A real getaway in a big city. And so are the rooms. Each room has another theme. We stayed in the beach house, which actually gave us the feeling of spending time in a small cosy house instead of a hotel room. The garden and small terrace are also beautiful. We used the bikes of the hotel which were good and hip as well. They also surprised us with a bottle of prosecco for my husband's birthday, they did that by themselves, very thoughtful and sweet. The breakfast was good for a hotel, also if you compare it to the breakfast they serve at the local restaurants... Thanks for having a great time! Just one comment: the temperaturen in the room was really high and there was no airco so we were really hot at night.

Ackselhaus was booked by our tour company. Room: We were pleasantly surprised the moment we stepped into our room - it was more of a mini apartment than a room! It was spacious and extremely comfortable. We felt very much at home. Staff were friendly and helpful. They speak English quite well too and we asked for help with directions and attractions whenever we could. Location: Somewhat a distance from the main tourist attractions but it wasn't a deal breaker for us. A short 3 stop tram ride and a 6 stops bus ride will get you to Brandenburg Gate within 25min. Breakfast was included with the room. Not much choices. We only had breakfast once and skipped it for the rest of our stay. Would we return for another stay? Definitely yes!

The hotel is located near Alexanderplatz and 2 minutes from a tramway so easy to get around. The hotel is very special in that the rooms (in Ackselhaus) are tematic decorated and equipped. Check in was swift and efficient and we were given Das Strandhaus room. Decorated like a summerhouse at the beach. Nice big bedroom with a sitting area and a large bathroom with seperate shower and bathtub. Good workspace at a nice office desk and good internet connection too. A coffe machine and tea making was also available in the room. The bed was splendid and we highly appreciated the quietness in the room. Breakfast was in another building next door and was very good indeed. We didnt try the restaurant in the adjopining building - we were too busy roaming around in Berlin and always ended…

The Ackselhaus and Blue Home is a lovely, unique place to stay. Our two connecting rooms (503 & 504) were very large. Each room had a small sitting area which enabled us to spend time together as a family or have some space for quiet time. The staff are friendly, courteous, and respond very rapidly to questions and requests. The breakfast had many, many choices; starts early (7am) which was important to us. It is in a delightful area of Berlin, full of shops and cafes. It is also very close to the subway and tram.
