Our trip to Berlin was dampened by the weather. Raining on two of the three days that we were there, it was literally a washout. BUT! Thank god we booked a suite at the Lux 11. From the welcome at the casual chic reception to the supersized and designed room we got, I'd have to say that our hotel was...

Went to IFA recently and stayed here with a colleague, I only stayed one night but he had been there for 6 and agrees that it was a very nice relaxing and high quality hotel. The only issue I had was having to walk down to the laundry room to iron my shirt.... in a room that is very well...

The check in staff was friendly but the check in lobby feels like being in a gym as staff is dressed in Adidas outfits (?). We had booked a suite (room 417) but the room had no no air-condition while cheaper rooms apparently had?. The bathroom lights did not work & still were not working the next day after we...

This looks great on the web but when you get int your room they are small. we upgraded to a suite and were cooked each night with no air con and hot stuffy air . Window open onto noisy street that make for a horrible nights sleep. The staff in hotel are moody and they seem like they do you...

Lovely hotel. The staff was really nice and friendly, room was spacious with a sunny balcony and all in all we had a great stay. The restaurant downstair is also very nice and serves great food and wine. If you want an easy and lovely stay - this is the place.

Some rooms do not have a/c (surcharge if you use the unit in the rooms that do). Leave the windows open and endure the street noise if facing Rosa Luxembourg Strasse. INSIST on room in rear of building.

We had an overall good stay at Lux 11. I see some mixed reviews here but can't say that we experienced any of the major problems other people have complained of. Firstly I must say the location of the hotel is absolutely perfect - it is right in the middle of the action. The hotel is very modern and trendy,...

My friend & I traveled to Berlin & we're so happy to have stayed at Lux 11. It was a very, chic apartotel right in the heart of Mitte. We had dinner & drinks at the hotel's amazing restaurant, called Shiro I Shiro-a Mediterranean/Japanese fusion restaurant where I enjoyed a salmon fois gras tobiko sushi roll. Delectable! Our 'value' room...

Stayed at the Lux 11 over New Year. It was perfect for our needs - very well situated for both the sights but also nice restaurants and bars, good sized room (we had a deluxe), enjoyed the kitchenette taking that getting up for breakfast pressure off. Mind you, they had an extremely civilized breakfast policy serving it very late into...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
