I have stayed here three times and will be back again.... The building has lots of History, hospital, Jazz club etc. It has a very modern feel to it, great bar area, very good breakfast and is smack in the middle of the town.

I had expected more from this popular hotel but was disappointed by: 1. Interior design of the Delux room - totally open concept without doors to bathroom. The open bathroom also faced a window to the main road, which looked directly into the building right across. Total lack of privacy. 2. Insufficient lighting, relying on natural light from big windows...

This is a great hotel if you are in Berlin to see the city. Location, especially combined with the price, is splendid but the rooms are a bit on the small side. They have all the amenities (comfortable beds, reliable showers, and enough space to get some quick work done) but can feel cramped. All in all highly recommended. Decent...

I spent 4 days at the Ellington for a business event. The staff go the extra mile to make sure everything goes right, are flexible and friendly. The reservations team were excellent. The rooms were clean, functional and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The meeting rooms were very pleasant to work in - light and airy, interesting artwork, attractive...

Visited this hotel with my boyfriend and was very impressed. Great location and right next to a station - lovely hotel staff and AMAZING breakfast. Layout of the standard rooms is a little odd - shower is in the room with you but that wasn't an issue. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel has a perfect location. It is very close to one main shopping area with many shops and reastaurants. There are (U-bahn) underground connections too and the train station Zoologischer Garten is not that far from there. The staff were very nice and helpful. They were flexible. I had an early flight and they prepared takeaway breakfast for me....

We asked for a proper double bed by email a week before as I had read trip advisor and had seen that they usually use two beds pushed together which I really dont like. I was very pleased when they put us on the fourth floor with a proper bed. The rooms are very small and it is a weird...

Interesting hotel. The rooms are a bit old school hostel jazzed up with a bit of ikea. Sounds a bit dodgy but its not. Its a comfortable well run hotel. Service is excellent, the breakfasts are fantastic, and the location is excellent.

The hotel has a 4 star rating, but I think this does not apply to the standard rooms on the first floor. Firstly and important the room was clean and smelt fresh. The room had a small fridge and a hair dryer. Air conditioned. The flat screen TV was very small. The laminated floor had no carpets. Small but effective...

Thansk so much for that statement. To have more space we recommend to book our superior- or deluxerooms. Our TV's will be changed this year in all rooms. Thanks for the compliments for breakfast and staff. Hope to see you soon again at the Ellington! Kind regards T.Brack and Team

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
