The area is very nice and very close to the interesting monuments. It is very safe to walk at any time of the day. The pension has not a good service: reception is open from 8am to 6pm and arriving later you can receive your key from the "Keyboy" (a mailbox with a code) but the owner is not very...

Absolutely horrible place. In the bathroom, right above the toilet, there was some kind of opening leading to a hallway or another room??! I was too scared to look, so I took the photo. I was so scared and slept with the lights on the entire night. THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

The worst customer service I've ever experienced! At check-in, reception was closed, the 'emergency number' was just the reception number so no one answered, we didn't get our room, the next morning the staff were dismissive and told us to speak with the manager (who wasn't there), and the manager never replies to messages or calls. We heard another couple...

I have never been so disgusted in all my life. I can't understand why people have been giving this place the thumbs up. As far as I am concerned this place is totally disgusting and should be closed. Staff are unfriendly and incompetent. The hotel is not far from the Kurfuersten Damm so that is the only reason it gets...

Not a good experience at all; small dirty rooms, rude staff and, though specified in emails, non en suite bathrooms. Breakfast paid for but not ready before leaving for work in the morning. Price was not good and the photos shown bear no resemblance to the cell like space I was given. I am not able to recommend this accommodation...

We've been to pension Elegia for two days. I have to say that you get what you paid. It means a modest room for a modest price. The location is quite good, which means at 5min from the S-Bahn station. The room are clean and comfortable. The decoration OK. However, as you have to share a common bathroom the toilet...

Great price, great room, very friendly staff. It is a hotel/pension. Do not expect a five star hotel. Room was very spacious, clean and with new furniture. The hotel it very well located. Subway within a few minuts walk. Very safe and pleasant neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants. I would stay in this hotel again in a new trip to Berlin.

I stayed at this small pension for one night. It was okay, although not 100% suitable for me, which is why I only stayed one night. The hotel is inside an apartment building, and the room I was in was on the ground floor, facing an internal courtyard. Reasonable rates - I was quoted 37 euros for a twin ensuite...

I had stayed in this pension under a different name years ago. I stayed there in late October. It has recently been re-furbished and was very bright and pleasant and was very reasonably priced.. I had a large room, nicely furnished, excellent bathroom and TV with BBC World. It is a few minutes walk from Savigny Platz and the S-bahn....

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
