I had one night stay in this hotel. Situated perfectly for all the shops and Malls. The room I had was pretty basic but clean with lovely hot shower and comfortable bed. I will be returning to Frankfurt on a regular basis and will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

It is an older hotel, nothing fancy, but clean, functional and comfortable. The staff we encountered were awesome. They were friendly, accommodating and made me feel very welcome. Loved the location, at the begining of a 1.5 km shopping street, lots of restaurants, near the river and the older parts of Frankfurt. Totally enjoyed our stay.

On the outside and in the reception area this looks like a lovely old-style German hotel. Unfortunately, my room, though large, was dim and dowdy with mismatched furniture dating from the 1930s to the 1960s. The bathroom was inconveniently shaped and it was difficult to get hot water out of the taps. The view was of cables, coiled wires and the metal fire escape. As in many lower-priced European hotels there was no electric kettle nor were there the little sachets of tea or coffee, etc. The lovely gentleman on reception, however, brought me an electric kettle which he said was the one used by staff but that they'd get another the next day. I sincerely hope they did because I wouldn't have wanted the staff to do without. There was a fridge but it didn't work - a brand new fridge was delivered with smiles all round late afternoon on the day before I was due to leave. The location was reasonably good, being in the heart of the CBD and on Frankfurt's modern main street and full of restaurants, cafes and shops. Most of medieval Frankfurt was flattened during World War 11 (the Zeil being one of the few buildings that remained), but tourists might prefer to stay in a hotel in the small area of the old town which has remained intact (about 15 minutes walk from the Zeil).

We booked a week long reservation with Expedia. Was non refundable .We canceled mistakenly one room unknowingly and tried to reinstate the reservation. Expedia was happy to help us but the Hotel will not reinstate the room and wants us to pay again....even though was a mistake. They basically took our money and refuse to give us a room(already paid for) even though lots of rooms available. The crazy thing is we had another room that was NOT canceled so we are in this hotel anyway for the one room. Shifty business practice. They will not take calls from Expedia or us now. Emails they sent are so rude to us. We did some research and they are part of no hotel assns. or deal with Frankfurt Tourist. Beware

I arrived to Zeil Hotel in 4th of March and I was planning to stay for 5 days. I was traveling with my mother. When we arrived we were very tired so I tried to made a check-in at reception very fast. When we got the room I was shocked! It was so terrible, so dirty. I started to feel sickness because of the stink in the room, the bed linen was not fresh and had bad smell of a previous guest’s body. The bathroom was extremely small with hair and feces drops all over the place. We could not stay at this dirty and dangerous place for other minute so I went to reception to make the check-out. The reception Russian guy very arrogant and rude said that I must stay for one night as he can not make refund of my money because of some reasons. He said that the next day the manager will be at the hotel and then I will be able to make check-out. So, I didn’t want to make any scandal and I accepted what I was offered. We went to the room and slept in the bed without tackling off out coats and hats. Next morning I went to reception to make check-out but the girl at reception said that she can not do the refund of the money as their Visa card terminal doesn’t work. This girl was Russian too and she said that it is so terrible to live in Germany because Germans make their life so complicated and they can not change their Visa card terminal during 2 weeks already. She said that as soon as she gets the new Visa card terminal then she will make the refund of my money. I could not keep patience any longer and I started to claim my money back. Then she said that she can transfer my money to the bank account of my friend in Germany. I gave her the bank account of my German friend and the reception girl said that I will be able to get the money on the next day. So, I left that terrible place. Two days later I still did not get my money back. By the way it supposed to be 275 euro. In two days I return to this devil house and met the same Russian reception guy who refused to make check-out on the first day. I started to shout and I said that if I don’t get the money back I will call the police. This guy called his manager. That woman agreed to give me my money back but keep 6% for money transfer. I agreed... I hope to get the money in nearest future on my card 🤦‍♀️ This is really very bad place to stay, very dangerous for health! Be careful!!! The management doesn’t exist, they don’t know how to work with clients and the even don’t have a housekeeping, they do not clean the rooms at all

I have been at Zeil hotel at 25 of June for one night. The hotel has a great location, but this is all! First impression - rude and uninterested personal on the reception, dirty room, bathroom and corridor. The elevator is not working- so we can to carry our 20 kg suitcase 5 floors on steep and high stairs. No light at the corridor, no any aircondicion and ventilation - there was 30 C at Frankfurt.... So .... I rate this "hotel" 1 star. Don't go there if you are going to safe your health, money and nerves !

Stayed in a single room for two nights on business. Does what it says on the tin. It was very clean and whilst the facilities are basic they are good quality and well maintained. Breakfast was a simple buffet but constantly replenished and kept very clean by a friendly staff member. I wouldn’t come here for a holiday but for business, Hotel Zeil is well connected and perfectly comfortable.

The check in is positively geriatric, bathroom size even Bilbo Baggins would find challenging, carpet that F1 would be proud of, well heated to over 30 degrees at night and I recommend a street view room so when you open the windows to breathe you can say hello to the street cleaners at 6:30am - all round value for money, best £250 ever spent!

Unfriendly staff, very dirty rooms with no airconditioning. Fairly central, 100 meters from Zeil. Limited parking aswell, but there is a garage nearby. Very small elevators, and couldnt find any stairs
