If you want a refuge from the crowds and madness of central Köln but within easy walking distance this is the place. It is one of the quietest hotels I have ever experienced this close to a city center. The hosts make you feel really at home. It is decorated in a Nordic way with bright simple furnishings. The place...

The hotel stay was part of a surprise Christmas market break and proved an excellent choice. It is small and friendly, with excellent customer service. We arrived earlier than check in and asked if we could leave our cases, as the room was being cleaned we were allowed to leave them in our room and given the key. At the...

A few minutes walk from the train station and one block away from the Rhine. We had booked room for 3 people. My son had single bed in one section and my husband and I had Queen bed in the other room. Light and spacious. Duck feather duvets and pillows which I was allergic to but after 1 night they...

I had a nice 1 night stay in this hotel. Its a bit overpriced in return to the size of rooms, however, good staff behavior and customer service made more than enough for the price. Hotel is very centrally located and is a walking distance from the Central station and is also very close to the waterfront.

This is a small family run hotel not far from the Altstadt (Old Town) and just 50 metres from the river. You can usually tell from the first welcome if you are going to have a pleasant stay at a hotel and the welcome here was as warm and friendly as you could wish for. My schoolboy German was not...

Stayed for 3 nights to visit the Christmas markets. Hotel is in a convenient location 10 minutes walk from the railway station and cathedral, all the markets are within walking distance. Rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and most are English speaking. The continental breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice....

Expected standard for 3 star hotel. Very clean and very helpful staff. Breakfast very good. If you are going to the shopping area or the cathedral and/or river, perfectly placed!! I would not hesitate to go back!! Only 7-8 minute walk to the centre and less than 1 minute to the river. Martin & Elaine 8-10/12/15

Nice little downtown hotel. Very reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable. Very close to the river and about five minutes walk from the railway station. Access would be difficult for disabled guests. The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke excellent English.

Business trip to fair K+J in September 2015 (2nd time) pros: location (five star!), service, breakfast (five star!), cleanliness, interior, bathroom (small, but nice and bright) cons: strait starcase and elevator, single room is too small (the double room is very comfortable)

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The owner and staff were very accommodating and the breakfast buffet was beautifully presented with a great variety of delicious breakfast items. The location was great as well. Short walk to the river and the Dome.

A Hearty Welcome to the Buchholz Downtown Hotel Hotel Buchholz with its attractive Victorian facade is one of Cologne's most charming "town house" hotels in the Kunibertsviertel. The hotel provides a quiet retreat away from the urban rush, situated in a small street just minutes from the city centre and a short walk from the River Rhine. The Buchholz family run and manage this affordable accommodation, and together with their friendly and courteous English - speaking staff ensure a hearty and warm welcome is given to all guests on their arrival. Whether your visit to Cologne is for business or pleasure, our central but quiet location is an excellent base for visiting the exhibition halls, various museums, our famous cathedral and other places of interest. Just a short walk from the hotel along the River Rhine embankment is "Old Cologne" with its many bars and restaurants.
