Underwhelming hotel. Most of the staff were very nice and accommodating. The front desk could use some lessons in making folks feel welcome. The beds were super comfy and so were the pillows. Location is great --right near the train station.

From our arrival to our departure everything about the Savoy was exceptional. As soon as you enter and marvel at the interior design ( particularly at Christmas time) you know that this is a special place. Our room ( apartment overlooking the garden) was amazing and so comfortable and well appointed. But the best thing was the wonderful, friendly staff. We were made to feel at home every moment and they do everything with a lovely sense of humour. The loveliest hotel, in the loveliest city with the loveliest staff. Brilliant.

The hotel was lovely, elegant and the décor was so gorgeous. The room itself was lovely, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and the toiletries provided were so nice! The location was great for all the attractions we visited, very walkable distances! The staff were friendly and welcoming and were always happy to help if we needed anything! We had a lovely time! The only issue we had and this was minor, was there was drilling at 8am where they were working on the spa as it was damaged, but the hotel were very sorry and refunded one days breakfast for this which was very kind of them.

In short; facilities did not live up to expectations and the price. Basically it felt like a fancy looking overpriced regular hotel . Wouldn't book again. ___Full honest review ___ * Our stay Booked a studio room at the hotel for two nights as a getaway weekend with my partner. * Spa was closed!!! :( I chose this hotel because it had a spa included, but when we got there the spa was closed due to water damage. I was quite disappointed, but didn't complain. * Misleading information, fixed easily The hotel then offered to upgrade us to a premium superior studio because I had asked for a bathtub in my booking. It had said on the website the studio I chosen had a bathtub or shower, that was wrong, none of them did. But they upgraded our room so we could have a bath and a shower, which was nice. * Aesthetics exceeded expectations The hotel looks very beautiful and luxurious, so did the premium superior studio room we had. It looks much better than the photos and isn't as dark as it looks (though it still is). The dining area and bar look very nice and have comfortable seating. However, I found the vibe at the bar a bit underwhelming compared to the inviting brauhouses and bars in the city, it had boring lounge music and is very mellow. If you like a more quiet space it's perfect. * Delicious cocktails, good but underwhelming breakfast The waitress at the bar was very nice and the cocktails were delicious. We didn't have dinner there but the food looked good too. However,, the breakfast buffet was rather small but had variety. A few salads, few fruits, fresh salmon, eggs, bacon, waffels and a limited array of breads. The food was quite good but I had expected a larger buffet with more options considering the price. * Rooms way too hot!!! No AC We noticed instantly that it was very warm in the room, when we checked the thermostat it was 23 degrees (oktober, 15-19 and raining outside). We tried to turn down the thermostat but it did not work. It stayed 23-24 degrees all night with the windows open, which was a uncomfortable night's sleep. The next day we asked the reception about it and they said they do not have AC but "climate control". The temperature could only be changed 3 degrees up or down. They send someone by to fix it for us, but it stayed 23-24 degrees for our entire stay. We believe it was broken. * Bed was so so The bed was fine but not the most comfortable. The warm room certainly didn't help. * Lacking guest items The studio room had the very bare minimum of guest items. There were no shower caps, sewing kits, lady items or little soaps. Instead they had large containers with soap to use by all guests untill empty, and a small kit with some cotton buds. That was it. There were no slippers or bathrobes. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils however, and there was a simply hairdryer. * Staff was nice, but a bit forgetful The staff was very friendly and helpful but also forgetful. We made use of the valley parking. When we returned to pick up the car the staff had forgotten about us and didn't even tell us it had arrived. * Conclusion Overall, the experience certainly wasn't horrible and eastheticly it exceeded my expectations. Though, quality and facility wise it was really underwhelming considering the pricing of the hotel. I've experienced way better for way less. Perhaps if the spa had been open we would have enjoyed it more, but it wouldn't have changed the other disappointing factors.

Stayed here for three nights for a special occasion. Check in was prompt but lacking sincerity. We were asked why we were in Cologne and mentioned the occasion: "I saw that on the passport" was the reply. The decor is beautiful but that is all the hotel has going for it. No tea and coffee facilities in the room and you need to call reception for an iron. Only expensive mini bar water provided too. Room is cleaned every second day. No atmosphere (or staff) in lobby bar. The lobby bar was empty throughout our stay. The restaurant also appeared empty all of the time. Rooftop bar has a nice view but again, it is lacking atmosphere and top service. This hotel could be one of the best in Cologne if more emphasis was placed on customer service and the little things that the majority of other hotels I've stayed in around the world focus on.

The hotel itself is nicely designed, filled with quite nice decorative art. BUT!! The crew is terrible. Unexperienced not well trained staff, which made plenty of mistakes during check in and check out too. Terrible corona restrictions - I passed covid and I am vaccinated too. They asked me to prove my vaccination everywhere. I took a dinner at super nice Italian restaurant nearby insted of the hotel restaurant just becauce they really provoked me by their stupid system. When you are at least little bit more sensitive you feel the atmosphere of the place you are visiting. This hotel has terrible atmosphere. The is no charm no easy going people. All stressed by unimportant things. Stay AWAY of this place if you can.

Great customer service but there are seriously cameras in the rooms. Or at least in my rooms. I also spotted the same thing in the spa. I’m not saying to not go to his hotel. It is beautiful and in a great location. Just take a good look at your room, especially look up, before you get settled.

Stayed here one night. Bathroom was nice and modern, staff were very friendly. There was a really nice multi cultural traveller vibe and very merry as the carnival had just started. My bed didn't have a pillow at first though. TV was nice and rare for hostel room!
