Great Wakering, Essex

Have stayed at Excelsior previously, this visit to Dusseldorf was on 13th October 2014. Hotel and room spotlessly clean, very well looked after by exceptional Reception and Breakfast Staff in attendance. Ideal position for hort walk to Altstadt and Shadow Strasse (Shopping). Great trip that was enhanced by the Hotel & Staff. First Class.

Recently refurbished this is a great place. Vey helpful staff and a great location for walking around the town are 2 positives that are enhanced by the price. 20 euro taxi or simple public transportation wil get you to/from the airport.

We just now stayed five nights at Excelsior to spend time with our grandchild studying in Düsseldorf. Actually she was the one who recommended the hotel after browsing all the hotels in the neighborhood. She found the reception extremely friendly and told us to stay there. As we also found an advantageous package including flight with SAS from Stockholm it...

The hotel is a short 5 minute walk through a park to the area where many of the bars and restaurants are located and no more than 10 minutes to the river. The hotel itself is lovely though a little old fashioned in the lobby area. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely. The room we had...

Specious room and bathroom with two big windows. The bathroom must have been newly renovated (modern and clean). We had chocolates on our pillows everyday and orange juice as well (in my opinion for a 3 star hotel, I think this is a nice touch) The staff is friendly and always willing to assist. The breakfast is very good. There...

Currently having a refit. This didn't affect my stay. The room was very good, no complaints, very clean, all updated and superb bathroom. Down side, no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was excellent. The location is convenient to the U bahn. Or walk 15 mins to the old town. locally, not too much choice for bars,...

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel which was comfortable enough but NO AirCon which made it very unpleasant in the July temps. We had a room on the first floor which it seemed was having a refurb. Some of the staff were very good whilst others were just ok - not sure that we would stay if in the area...

The hotel is old with old dirty carpet along the floor. No AC in the room, just normal standing fan... The staff wasn't nice at all. Made me pay 80€ for losing my key (normal old key, not magnet). Stay away from this hotel. You can find much better options in the city.

Dear Manuelamendonca, It is with our place, like it is with life: You can see the beauty in things, or decide to see a beast. We can only do as we can do and give it our best. You have caught one of the rare and beautiful hot Dusseldorf summer days, however, we generally have only a couple of days...

This is a good choice for a place to stay when visiting the city or a trade fair in Düsseldorf. The hotel is located a short 10 min's walk from the sights, museums, downtown shopping streets and the old town restaurants and bars. The metro line from the main train station to the trade fair center is around the corner....
