The hostel advertised air conditioning but since we had 2 rooms, only the 1 room had a unit so we were sweating all night. The WiFi only worked in the lobby. Half the personnel was friendly and the other half not at all. The location in the main square is the only thing that was really worth it.

Small rooms. Cleaned daily with fresh bed linen and towels. Staff were very pleasant and even helped me with a heavy suitcase up the, to be fair, steep staircase. If you have any kind of difficulty with stairs then only consider a ground floor room. We had a flickering bathroom lamp which was replaced after a few comments. Overall a...

Would highly recommend this quaint hotel. Great location in the old town overlooking the square Plaza de Flores. Warm welcome on arrival considering the lateness of the hour. We arrived at 1.15am due to a strike (French air traffic control). The room was very clean and comfortable and fresh towels were provided daily. The shower had plenty of hot water...

Great location and traditional hotel in lovely square within easy walking on good cafes restaurants and beach. Unfortunately could not open blinds at Windows as room on ground floor and people constantly outside the window. Air conditioning did not go below 20 and waterproof mattress covers meant broken sleep as temperature outside over 38. Booked hotel as have dog phobia...

The room in this Hostel was quite dated and dark but that's where the negativity ends. The room was clean and cleaned every day and fresh towels provided daily. The shower had plenty of hot water and the air conditioning was the quietest I have found in a hotel. The beds were fairly comfortable and modern and the room was...

4 of us stayed on a low key stag weekend. We could not have asked for more. The rooms were cheap, clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. If you want somewhere nice to stay and central in Madrid without any fancy add-ons then this is the place. Thanks el pilar, see you again.

I returned to stay in the town of Estepona after 50 years. It was like coming home. The town has grown, almost double, but some of my old haunts were still there. We stayed in Hostal Pilar in the Plaza Del Flores, a delightful, economic, clean and friendly old house and our room overlooked the beautiful orange tree square. Staff...

Lovely old town, with narrow moorish streets..each street has its own coloured plant pots! Parking is expensive, but we found large areas, just off the seafront, which is free..its rough ground but it saves 10-16 euros a day! the seafront has a large parade, good for taking exercise. There are a lot of restaraunts.. with varied prices and choices of...

We went to Spain for 5 nights as a mini break and stayed in 2 different locations, El Pilar being for the last 2 nights. This was a very basic room but clean with excellent views over the square. It had the feel of a room in a shared house rather than anything else and you could hear people talking...

This hostel is very traditional, with small rooms, basically furnished , but in an ideal setting to explore Estepona. The Plaza is lovely and our room overlooked this which was a bonus. There is 24 hours security manned by friendly and helpful staff. The only drawback are the walls which are paper thin and it is not difficult to hear...
