This is one of the most memorable hotel stays I've ever had. It's mind-blowing to think that the house/hotel in which you're staying was built before Columbus discovered the Americas. It's also mind-blowing to open your eyes in the morning and see the Alhambra, then have the lit-up Alhambra serve as your night light at night. We stayed in room #15, which is the penthouse room known as the Mirador.

The walk up to the Alhambra was absolutely gorgeous and took just 15 minutes. We were thinking of taking a taxi, but it would have taken longer so we just walked. Glad we did!

Pleasant surprise: The breakfast was much nicer than we'd expected, and the basement room where it was served (all buffet style except for the made-to-order omelettes) was beautiful and lit by the sun coming through the above-ground window. The orange juice--like most orange juice in Andalucia--was freshly squeezed and absolutely delicious. There was a pot of heated milk behind the coffee pot so your coffee didn't get cold when you added milk.

Warnings:

(1) You may die trying to get there by car. We barely arrived in one piece when we drove into town after dark, in spite of the instructions provided by the hotel (which included a Google Maps link that only made sense if you clicked on it when you reached a specific location, not very helpful if you don't even know where you are). The streets are even more narrow than expected and extremely hilly. The street names on the corners of buildings are too small and hidden to be seen by drivers, as they were designed for pedestrians. Google Maps repeatedly got confused, at one point telling us to make an impossible 140-degree turn into what turned out to be a downhill staircase. So spend an hour *before* you leave for your trip looking at the Google Maps route provided by the hotel, looking at street views of every spot along the way and taking notes that you can follow instead of following Google Maps.

(2) If you are in room #15 (and most likely any of the others), you are going to be taking a bath, not a shower. I wish I'd known this, as I would have run the bath ahead of time when I got up on that first chilly morning. There simply wasn't enough water pressure to keep water flowing up into the shower head, although the bath faucet and bathroom sink were just fine.

We stayed in 2 different rooms and spent 3 nights at the Casa Morisca.

Options were limited as we'd booked late but were glad that our first night was in the delightful Deluxe room. It's a large room (possibly a conversion from a parlour) with a really nice bathroom. The room had a fantastic view of the Alhambra from its window.

We had to move to a Superior room for 2 nights thereafter and that room was much smaller. It faced the street, was a bit noisy and quite underwhelming. For some reason, all the light fixtures in that room used Daylight (white light) bulbs, so nights in that room did not feel as cozy.

The bonus with the hotel's location is that it's within walking distance to the Alhambra and in the other direction, to Plaza Nueva and Granada's Cathedral beyond. Some sites claim that the Albaicin is slightly dangerous at night ... Don't be concerned about that - we always felt safe.

We had a rented car and Casa Morisca has the bonus of free parking. Driving through the restricted, very narrow streets of the Albaicin to get to Casa Morisca was certainly hairy, so get the smallest/narrowest car that will accommodate your traveling group.

Breakfast is an additional cost, but it was very good and comparable in cost to any breakfast sets you might get around town.

We found we got the best deal booking directly with the hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant ... we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel building is really beautiful with a great decoration. Location is amazing, you can see La Alhambra from the hotel, walk to Sacramento to see a flamenco show, also walk to the Alhambra entrance and stroll around the Albaicin, the most beautiful neighborhood in Granada. If you are driving, it is quite difficult to get there, so ask the hotel directions, if they can provide you with a map, much better.
The only negative point would be that our room had a strange smell, my daughters' was perfect. But, to be fair they gave us the option to choose between three rooms when we arrived and we never complained about the strange smell. I am sure they would have let us change rooms if we had told them, but it was not bad enough to change rooms.
Victor, the receptionist is really very helpful and nice. All in all, a beautiful hotel I would definitely recommend.

A small hotel in a very tastefully converted morisca house with its internal courtyard. Everything feels right. Our comfortable room 4 on the first floor had a very small balcony overlooking the quiet cul de sac street.
The location at the foot of the Albaicin area is very convenient for walking up to the Alhambra complex on one side of the valley and exploring the steep cobbled streets of the old Moorish area on the other side. Do be prepared for quite a steep haul in both directions. Otherwise follow the valley bottom for a range of bars and restaurants.
Finding the hotel by car could have been stressful but the excellent directions, complete with photos, provided by the management made it straightforward – provided you don’t mind sharing ever narrower streets with strolling pedestrians.

It's a 3* hotel so don't expect any amenities. However the location if pretty unbeatable. It's a 30m walk from Paseo de las Tristes (an area with bars, next to Darro river) and you can get to Plaza Nueve in 10'. Off to the right of this Plaza you have the arab market, Cathedral and some great tapas bars. Turn left out of hotel and you can walk 30' to Sacromonte (former cave-dwellings for gypsies) with its informative museum. Half way between hotel and Plaza (off to left) are the Arab baths, well worth a visit. You walk 20' up the hill to the Alhambra from a small square before Plaza Nueva. So basically everything you want to see is walking distance.
Rooms are small, but well maintained. We also had a drain smell in our room like another TA guest reported. I ran the shower with hot water for a while and it cleared. There is a small breakfast room with a really friendly woman who also makes scrambled eggs, omelettes. Breakfast was €13 extra. There's no lunch, dinner or bar.
24 hr service and friendly staff who can organise anything.
For the Alhambra please remember that you have to book online and the time you select is the entrance to the Nazrid Palaces and NOT the general entrance to the Alhambra. So you need to leave the hotel at least 60' before your allowed time, to allow yourself time to get there and queue for Nazrid.
You're on the edge of the Albaicin neighbourhood and if you walk through the alleyways uphill you can eventually find the Mirador (lookout) de St Nicholas. There's a great restaurant called Hurto de Juan Ranas with superb Alhambra view

This small historic hotel is located on the side of a hill near the Sacromente neighborhood. I found the location to be beautiful with views of Alhambra, but also convenient to walk to the Cathedral and other historic and shopping sites. Part of the experience is staying in a historic building with a central courtyard and treasured antiques yet modern facilities. Breakfast is good. Also, there’s an elevator that runs through the day. 24/7 there’s someone in the office.

We stayed in march 2020 in the Hotel Casa Morisco. It has got a very old but nice patio. The Hotel is located underneath the Alhambra in Albycin and near several caves, where flamenco shows are performed. The vieuw to the Alhambra was, especially in the evening because of the lighting, breath taking ! The reason for traveling to Granada was, to attend a Flamenco show in one of the caves in Sacromonte, which were only a 15 minutes walk away. We found that the prices for a single room with 100 € and a double room with 135 € without breakfast, well over average. Nevertheless the personal was very kind and helpfull!

I just stayed three nights in Casa Morisco. It is a Casa Morisca is in a good location at one end of the Albaicin, with restaurants around and the Alhambra towering above. The hotel is not luxurious but very clean with good wifi and very helpful staff. I would try to select your room, if possible, before you get there. While some rooms might have towering views of the Alhambra, our ground floor room had a view of the car park and was next to the front door. Therefore some bangs in the morning but overall rather quiet.

We did not have breakfast, but for far less than 30 Euros a couple I can assure you that you can have an excellent breakfast at places around the hotel.

This charming hotel gives you the feel of the Moorish history in Granada. My room had a charming little balcony that had Alhambra views. The hotel is situated ideally for a steep uphill walk to the Alhambra and for an easy stroll along the river to Plaza Nueva and many restaurants.

My only complaint would be that as an old building, the sound proofing is poor. Bring ear plugs or a sound maker. Also, neither of the reception clerks that we encountered (two separate men) were friendly.

We stayed in the Mirador Room which, although not very large, was beautifully designed and appointed, with an amazing view of the Alhambra and surrounding hills. The hotel itself is a lovely building with a central courtyard. Getting there by car was an *adventure* involving VERY narrow streets but once we parked alongside the hotel we could walk to everything we could want. Victor at the front desk was so professional and helpful as he answered our questions, offered suggestions and made us dinner reservations. Overall a wonderful experience, and we would happily stay here again.
