The location is fantastic and it was wonderful to stay in such a historic building. Maria was very helpful and gave really good advice. The room was spotless. We had a front room with balcony which was a great spot to watch the passing parade. You are really in the thick of things and surrounded by fabulous pintxos bars, so.....expect... More

This is a wonderful and quirky hotel, excellently positioned in the old town, with the hill to the castle behind it and pintxos bars within a stone's throw of the front door. Our room was at the back of the hotel, with a view of the playing area of a ball game called pelota, which we gathered was a traditional... More

This Pension is right in the thick of things in San Sebastián. The room was typically two single beds pushed together but was light and comfortable. The external bathrooms were clean and spacious. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however, the bedroom and towel changing over was spontaneous even though we did exactly as described on the bathroom wall. Towels on... More

Our room was extremely comfortable and had the most incredible view of Old Town. The building is the oldest building in San Sebastian and is across from some of the most amazing Pintxos bars including Fuego Negro. Highly recommend this Pension! Staff was incredibly friendly and amenities were great.

This little hotel is the heart of old town. Walking distance for all the pintxos bars and restaurants (literally outside the door), pretty much anything was walking distance in San Sebastian. It's next to a lovely church and you can wake up to very soft bells in the morning (starting at 8am). The bedroom was clean and a very comfortable... More

We just loved Amaiur. Our room overlooked Augusto which is the street with the best Pintxo bars. We had a balcony with a separate private bathroom. I loved the sounds from the street when you opened the balcony doors - the hustle and bustle, church bells and buskers music and yet the soundproof doors could block it all out when... More

Stayed here just one night while in San Sebastian. It was a very cozy room, with an ensuite bathroom (there are options for private or shared bathrooms) and a pretty balcony where we could sit and take in the evening. The neighborhood is lively, with a lot of good bars. It's also very close to La Concha and Monte Urgull.... More

We booked for two nights and ended up staying for four. The food in San Sebastián was too good to leave behind and the pension is perfectly located to take advantage of it! The owners of the pension are lovely. They provide a lot of information about the area and an all important overview of the best of the local... More

Great location, clean and tidy, nice and quiet. We loved it. It's in the heart of the old quarter and near some of the best tapas bars. Definitely recommend staying in the old quarter and not further out.

We just spent about 8 nights at Pension Amaiur, interrupted midway by a brief excursion to Biarritz. We stayed in the lovely red-walled triple room, overlooking the pelota court. We were delighted with the pension. The several hostesses are warm, welcoming, and helpful and generous with information. The pension is kept very clean and well-maintained. We loved looking out onto... More
