What a fantastic experience to stay at this hotel. The service started a day before arrival with the first contact for our wishes. Checking in was a very smooth and friendly experience. While we checked, in our car was parked in the garage and luggage brought to the room and we found a nice and tasteful welcome drink in our room. We received very good and useful tips and recommendations for sightseeing in beautiful Salamanca. The hotel is excellent located close to the old town and beautiful highlights of the city. Breakfast was a feast with fresh fruit and personal attention. Room was very silent with very good bed. Very friendly and helpful hotel team made us feel very welcome and special. A fantastic hotel which we can strongly recommend for a stay in Salamanca.
The Hotel Rector was our first stop in a recent tour of North-eastern Spain. The location is perfect - easily accessible & with the gorgeous old town on the doorstep. We were warmly greeted seconds after arriving, and ushered to reception where we were greeted by name. The lobby and common areas (seating, residents-only bar and dining room) are elegantly and comfortably decorated and furnished. Check-in was swift with clear descriptions of the facilities, the surroundings and services. We were escorted to our suite on the first floor. A personalised greeting card with sparkling wine on ice awaited us. The suite itself is decorated in a similar way to the common areas - tasteful, high quality fixtures and fittings. The suite is well laid out, with a separate seating area with TV in a nook leading to a dressing area, bathroom and finally the bedroom with super king bed. The bathroom is luxuriously appointed - with extra-large bathtub, separate shower and separate WC, complete with Bulgari toiletries. A staff member designed a personalised walking itinerary for sampling the local sights, museums and galleries. They rearranged our reservation at El Meson de Gonzales to allow us time to relax afterwards. Breakfast was a real treat. A seamless combination of an array of buffet choices and cooked to order options. On departure all available staff members assembled to see us off. We were presented with a bag of drinks and snacks for the road and shown to our (cleaned) car in the spotless private garage. As you can see from the reviews we've left , we regularly stay in world class 5 star properties. What sets this hotel apart, besides the fact that it is relaxed, elegant and welcoming, is the service. This easily exceeds the high standards of properties such as the Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. In our opinion luxurious surroundings are a given in high end hotels, and it is truly special service that makes a world beating hotel. Hotel Rector is one of these. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Hotel Rector . The only negative was that we hadn't booked to stay longer.…
The level of attention, service, luxury and generosity at this hotel is exceptional. The focus is 100% on making sure your stay as a good as possible in their gorgeous property: most comfortable beds ever, flowers everywhere, the best blackout shades, little treats every day in your room, all the bottled water you need (which is a LOT as a tourist in late May!), a fabulous gym -- the list goes on and on. The rooms are huge and well-appointed, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They even extended an invitation to our college-age daughter (who is studying in Salamanca for a month) to use the hotel as her "safe space" to come relax, have a coffee, study or whatever while she is in town! Cannot recommend highly enough.
We stayed here for just one night but everyone and everything was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, the whole hotel and rooms are super stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was fabulous with an amazing shower. They gave us great advice as to where to go, what to see and where to eat. Nothing was too much trouble and it is also ideally placed to visit this beautiful city. We absolutely loved it and would love to be able to go back one day, thank you.
Clean, comfortable, superb room. Great location, for accessing beautiful Salamanca. All the staff go out of their way to make your stay terrific . A truly wonderful place to stay. Even the garage is spotless and stylish.
Wonderful hotel, highly recommended. Terrific service (including valet parking and a complimentary bottle of cava), lovely room, and great local advice from helpful and obliging reception staff. Volveremos.
The hotel is extremely well run; a garage under the hotel is immaculate, our room was huge. We had a claw bathtub and shower. There was a bottle of Cava on ice in our room compliments of the hotel on arrival. They made dinner reservations for us. Breakfast is vast and delicious. The little bar off the lobby is special and quaint. On Valentines they left a Bulgari perfume. All the little things add up to a terrific hotel. Small and deluxe. I would return.
World Class! Truly incredible! Outstanding! Teresa and all of the staff were professional, caring, thoughtful, and responsive. Incredibly clean. Every aspect of our stay was 5 star class or better. Stay here for the perfect experience! Great location. We were visiting our daughter at Salamanca University. Will be back for sure!
Probably the most welcoming and helpful hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything was taken care to the smallest detail. Helping with the luggage and parking (our car had a roof box so they kept us a place outside), Teddy bears appeared for the children on our second evening, leaving gifts, drinks and snacks for the car journey, suggestions for where to visit and to eat dinner. However, everytyhing was done with discretion. Quite amazing how the hotel managed to look after us without it being too much. We found the price to be extremely reasonable for the beautiful room and breakfast. I think that they could charge more!
There are so many good things to say about this hotel, I don’t know where to begin. Even before check-in, Ana went out of her to watch to make sure we felt welcome by asking if we had any special requests, and then giving us the absolute warmest welcome we have ever received in check in. Everyone on site is very familiar with the city and very helpful with getting us reservations for tours, dinner, etc. The hotel is impeccably clean, quiet, extremely well-places within Salamanca, and stylish in a very sophisticated but understated way. My partner and I visited Sevilla, Salamanca, and Madrid on our trip through Spain, and Hotel Rector was a very big part of why Salamanca was our favorite spot for the whole trip. Well done to the staff! We are already planning our return.
