For a four star hotel this is a real let-down. I would look elsewhere for real value. Paper thin walls, polyester pillows, white fluorescent lighting, this is not the place for a relaxing stay in Barcelona. The air freshener in the lobby is overwhelming to say the least, shower is one of those old-fashioned European types, carpeted bedrooms. We left...

The hotel is situated a block from La Rambla right in the center of everything except the beach. The gym is one of the smaller ones I have seen but there is a treadmill, a bike and a bench but with 2 people in the room it becomes crowded. The roof with the pool is nice, the rooms and the...

Fantastic hotel, excellent location, friendly staff speaking fluent english, spotless clean, comfortable beds, coffee and tea facilities free daily in the room. The hotel is located in a small road next to the busy Ramblas street and between two metro station Plaza Catalonya and Liceu with lots of shops, restaurants and tabas around. There is a private parking place only for the residence next...

The location is good for a couple of reasons; a block from la ramblas and for the restaurants you will pass before reaching la ramblas. The hotel is noisy, the rooms dark and the rooms lack some necessary travelling amenities (ie. iron and ironing board, tissues, water). After visiting Barcelona there are better areas to stay. Maybe look at the...

The hotel is in a great, very central location and this is what you pay for. The rooms are okay, nothing exceptional. The service was very good, friendly and willing to help receptionists. I think that for the price you pay, the rooms could be better. The breakfast is really good!! It has anything you might want, but it cost...

Hotel Silken Rambla is a convenient walking distance from Placa Reial (15 mins), the Mercat de la Boqueria (5 mins), and of course Las Ramblas (less than 2 mins!). The hotel is located on a side street that shoots off of Las Ramblas. As our group was three girls in our 20s, we wanted a safe and convenient location. We...

Despite the good and helpful staff "especially the receptionist recardo", the hotel is kind of old, thin walls (therefore, noisy), SLOW internet, got two separated beds despite stating that we are honeymooners. On the other hand, the rooms were wide and the location of the hotel was great as it is next to Le Meridian.

This Hotel was excellent. It is situated just off La Ramblas, also perfectly situated for the Metro and the Bus Touristic. Although just off La Ramblas, it was quiet, and sleep came easily!!! Extremely clean, very comfortable beds. The Staff were positively amazing. They honestly could not do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble. The acid test ......

The hotel itself was outdated but we found it to be clean and comfortable the night we stayed. The location was perfect for what we needed. Close to the Ramblas and Metro(one block away). We were only in Barcelona for 1 day prior to a cruise and wanted to be close to Old Town. We found the staff to be...

We chose this hotel mainly because of the location. We regretted our decision. There r plenty other options in it's 1 mile radius that are way better. To begin with their Walls are paper thin. I could hear the toilet flush of room next to me and above me. Secondly the hotel has this weirdest air freshener that can drive...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
