The Hotel Colón is a classic and traditional 4 stars hotel situated in the heart of Barcelona, right opposite the Gothic Cathedral. It was founded in 1951 and during its 90 plus years of history, it has housed big names such as Hemingway, Tennessee Williams, Jean Paul Sartre, Sofía...
Hotel Colon is located on a plaza across from a beautiful cathedral and away from traffic. The rooms are very nice and their front desk is extremely helpful with suggestions for dining, touring, etc.. They have a beautiful rooftop spa and terrace with spectacular views....More
We almost missed going to the roof deck which has one of the most stunning views of the cathedral in front of you as well as the city. The staff was great, the room was superbly outfitted with walk-in closet and beautiful. Many elegant, classic...More
Hotel smells wonderful when you walk into reception! Immaculately clean spacious reception area and the service from the front desk is spot on. Friendly and helpful. We had a standard room - great facilities (bathrobes, loads of toiletries, coffee, tea etc) … although we missed...More

Booked a triple room here. Normally you get a room with a bed crammed into the spare space making it impossible to move around the place. Not only was the room spacious enough for the extra bed but the interior decoration of the room is...More

With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply.
I can't give you an exact distance because I don't know exactly where the cruise port is but the hotel is no more than a 10 minute walk to the beach.
It would be quite cheap in a taxi.

Our room with a Cathedral view had a combination tub and shower. Have to be careful because the shower only has a half door (extends half way over the tub) and the water leaked out no matter what we did. We were in a junior suite, room 511. Spacious for 4. I would say that the bathroom was not crowded, also. If I may, I would say to email the hotel. They were great at answering all of my questions prior to arriving and did all they could to accommodate.
