We stayed at the Hotel Espana Ramblas for 4 nights. Everything about our stay was excellent from arrival to departure. The staff are great particularly at the terrace bar where nothing was too much trouble. Maid service was also first class. Highly recommend this hotel.

My son and I stayed here for three nights, The hotel is a beautiful, art nouveau style restored building. The rooms are small but extremely well designed and comfortable. There is a lovely rooftop cocktail bar with a small pool which has great, friendly staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere - perfect for a drink at the end of a...

Hotel España is very beautiful and has been restored very simpathetically and tastefully. People have said the location could be a little questionnable, but we never found any issues. Carrer Sant Pau is a lovely narrow street and I would actually suggest that it is in a prestigous part of the city, with an Opera venue on Carrer Sant Pau...

We stayed here for one night before boarding a cruise. The location was excellent, near sights, public transport, and the port. The room was quiet and fairly comfortable, though the moron who designed the bathroom left only a sight clearance between the faucet and sink to fit a water glass into (it looked nice, but was totally impractical). There were...

The hotel itself was beautiful. Our rooms were comfortable and modern. I have no complaints about the hotel or the staff. Overall our experience was great. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the Gothic Quarter and other great tourist sites. However, the hotel is located in a small alley just off of Las Ramblas. If you haven't...

This was our first trip to Barcelona and the hotel had been recommended so we decided to book here. When we arrived we were upgraded to the suite which was amazing. It has a large sun terrace which we really enjoyed. The pool area is small so it was a nice bonus to have our own sun terrace with loungers....

If you want the flavor of a European feel in a hotel, this is it. In the heart of La Rambla, this location was perfect. Close to all the action! Rooms are a little smaller than standard North American rooms, However, rooms are very modern. We were very impressed with bathroom/shower. Very comfortable. Staff was very helpful with restaurant reservations...

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hotel is beautiful and quite historic. The location is very convenient being about half way down La Rambla right near the opera and close to the market. KStylish hotel, combination of historic and modern architecture, well located and close to metro station. Room was modern, medium sized and clean. Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
