Being a fan of the Catalonia hotel chain we decided to stay there for one night before flight out from Barcelona airport. And I am so glad it was only one night! The hotel was nothing like I expected! It was not as centrally located as advertised. The area was a little run down to the point that the receptionist...

Dear Guest, we regret your bad experience with us. We inform you that the area the hotel is in the "Eixample" district one of the most exclusive in the city and just two blocks from the "Paseo de Gracia", however the location of the hotel you chose is our input highly valued, together cleaning and hotel staff. Regarding the leather...

This hotel shocked us, especially since the Catalonia hotel atocha in madrid was fantastic and despite being the same chain, this one was a big disappointment. The hotel is old, the furniture looks like a college dorm room, the beds dont have blankets just sheets, the pillows have faux leather covers which are not changed between guests, the bathroom tub...

Firstly thanks for being a customer of Catalonia Hotels and tell that we have a wide range of hotels. Specifically mentioned Madrid Hotel opened just nine months ago and our hotel is 11 years old, although with constant renovations. Our location two blocks from Paseo de Gracias is highly valued by our customers. The cleanliness and staff as the most...

Stayed only 3 nights B/B. In my opinion should not be a 4star needs a good overhaul our room although large was overlooking the road at the front of hotel although the road was busy most of the time it did not stop us getting a good nights sleep. The bathroom was so run down it was dirty, cracked washbasin...

We stayed here as part of a Riviera tour, for 3 nights. We had booked a double room and on arrival were given an envelope with our key cards in which also stated we had booked a double. We found our room and it was a twin. We asked about changing but the only free double was a room without...

Like the previous reviewer on a "Riviera Holidays" Trip we requested a "quiet room" at this Hotel. We were given Room 106,on the first floor, possibly the worst room in the Hotel, which faces a wall and is very claustrophobic, poorly furnished, unrefurbished and dark!! The Reservations Manager,Manuel was very unhelpful and unprofessional when we asked to change rooms. He said the Hotel was...

Used this hotel when travelling with "Riveria Travel" so could not move out, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. We asked for a quiet room which we got, in fact, it was dire, window faced a brick wall, so no light. Asked to change again. This time we were given a room that had a view so at least there...

A pleasant modern hotel conveniently situated, as while not right in the centre or on the coast, it is not far from the Gaudi houses and only a few minutes from the 'hop-on, hop-off' tourist bus stops for all routes. There are also plenty of bars and eating places in the vicinity (the hotel also provides meals and has a...

I loved this hotel and its location. I stayed in La Ramblas during my last visit and this was such a wonderful change in location. You are between the Gracia and the tourist area. If you are looking to between McDonald's and Starbucks and close to the Hop on/Hop off bus..stay elsewhere. This hotel was suggested to me by locals...

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
