Room didn't included tv, not sure if written on description, not a problem as only Spanish channel and our most day. Room is quite small but double bed was comfortable. I spend 4 nights in the hostel, I was surprised to see that they have cleaning service in the room every day. For a hostel it was really clean and central located, close to Las Ramblas and really nice personnel.

Just off Las Ramblas this is a good, very clean and basic place to stay. The rooms are very small but functional with superb shower facilities en suite. Prices are reasonable for the location. The additional breakfast at €4.50 is a stretch for what is included but Barcelona is an expensive city. Staff are generally welcoming and helpful. Linens and... More

Trip Advisor is right again! This place is just as everyone here describes it. Rooms are small and clean, and the en suite bathroom is nice to have (after a full day of walking in the sun, you'll want your own shower.) Good wifi and the elevator is a nice bonus as we were on the 4th (5th) floor. Our... More

I'm glad my friend and I decided to check out what hostal is. I thought it's a bit more than a teenage camp and something old and dirty. In fact it's an apartment building with the reception. Rooms are small but very clean. Fresh bedsheets and towels all white, which is important if you want to be sure if it's... More

Looking for a hotel with trendy decor, then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for a modest guest house with rooms with private bathroom, located near the Ramblas (near the subway stop "Liceu") and market "La Boqueria", then this hostel is for you. The cost / benefit is very positive, because it is effectively close to... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

The hostal la Terrassa is located in portion of old town Barcelona where the first settlement of the Raval neighborhood was established. It was built around the Romanic church of Sant Pau del Camp after the fall of the Roman Empire.Less than 5 minutes walking distance, La Terrassa hostal is very near “La Rambla”. This popular promenade was finally completed at the end of the XVIII century and is where in we can find the colorful market known as “la Boqueria” or “Sant Josep” founded in 1836. In the 1800s the upper class of Barcelona gain interest in the Raval area and began to populate the neighborhood’s most important streets. La Terrassa is located in Junta de Comerç street once it first opened it became at the time not only the widest and grandest street, but also the “Champs-Élysées” of Barcelona. The most significant example of an important personality moving to the neighborhood was Count Güell, who commissioned Antoní Guadí to build him a palace in 1885.Nowadays Old Town is an up and coming neighborhood regaining the grandeur of its glory days. It’s the second neighborhood with most character in Barcelona after the Gothic Quarter forming Old Town.
